Deceiving Americans Into Socialism

Woe unto you, lawyers! for you have taken away the key of knowledge:
you entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in you hindered.
(Luke 11:52)

The real goal of the ACLU is to diminish the constitutional rights of American citizens. The ACLU founder and executive director from 1920 to 1950, Roger Baldwin, described the Soviet Union as a "great laboratory of social experimentation of incalculable value to the development of the world." He wanted to bring socialism to America, but he knew that to be effective, he had to disguise and mask this goal in terms of individual rights. He wrote: "Do steer away from making it look like a socialist enterprise. We want to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to get a good lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what our forefathers wanted to make of the country, and to show that we are really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions." (Quoted in William A. Donahue, Twilight of Liberty: The Legacy of the ACLU - New Brunswick, NJ: Transition Publishers, 1944, pp.6-7)

"I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the properties class, and sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal." -- Roger Baldwin, leftist, anarchist, and Communist, was born in Wellesley MA and co-founded the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
-- Norman Thomas, Socialist Party Presidential Candidate in 1940, 1944 and 1948, co-founder of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

"We can't expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism." -- Nikita Kruschev, former Soviet Premier/dictator.

What Is Behind The 'Hate Christians' Campaign? By Thomas D. Segel December 22, 2004 - Organizations such as the Horizons Fund of California, the Tides Foundation, the Gill Foundation of Colorado, the Arcus Foundation of Michigan and nationally known Ford and Rockefeller Foundations have all very quietly made generous contributions to the ACLU.

The ACLU says they are "defending the Bill of Rights." How? By using fear of lawsuits to budget conscious City Halls and Schools, etc. and scaring Christianity out of our American culture. Why? Because the "god of this world has blinded their minds" into defending sin vs. morality.

Virginia Boy Scout Troop Takes on the ACLU One Kernel at a Time (CWA) In Richmond, Virginia, Boy Scout Troop 828 has used their adversarial relationship with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to their financial benefit. The boys decided to hold their annual popcorn sale outside the Virginia ACLU headquarters. Their quiet, yet respectful move gained them national media attention. Now, the troop that last year sold $300 worth of popcorn is credited with sales topping $28,000 this year. Robert Knight, CWA’s director of the Culture & Family Institute and resident Eagle Scout gives three cheers to the Heart of Virginia Council and the Troop 828 of Chesterfield County. 700 lawyers ready to fight ACLU lawsuits Legal group's 'Christmas Project' designed to protect public schools. Is it illegal to sing Christmas carols in public school? Or to display a manger scene or even to say the words "Merry Christmas" in those halls of learning? Many public school officials act as though such prohibitions were clearly laid on in the Constitution and defensively ban every vestige of "religious expression" out of fear of an expensive ACLU lawsuit.

Save Our Boy Scouts’ Bill Fails In Senate November 23, 2004 – Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) issued a press release on November 20, discussing the failure of passage of the “Save Our Scouts” bill. All Republicans supported passing it; while the Democrats opposed it. Posted: 2004-11-23 06:36:49

ACLU Tries to Shut Down the Boy Scouts While Defending Juvenile Boys Who Want to Cavort Nude in a Public Park  Orlando, FL  (11/19/2004)– The ACLU recently announced that the Pentagon will no longer sponsor the Boy Scouts of America (“BSA”). However, this claim of victory was overexaggerated, misleading, and obviously designed to raise funds for the group’s liberal agenda. The Boy Scouts will not be adversely affected. While trying to hurt the BSA, the ACLU filed suit against the state of Virginia, claiming that juvenile boys have a constitutional right to cavort nude in public parks.

The ACLU has tirelessly defended the pornography industry in case after case.

·   The City of Phoenix declared a ban on Internet pornography in city libraries -- and the ACLU announced its intention to challenge the ban in court.

·   The ACLU even favors the legalization of child pornography.

·   When the FEC announced it was banning the “f” word, the ACLU demanded that this obscenity be removed from the list of prohibited words.

·   The organization also takes credit for the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Communications Decency Act, which would have restricted pornography on the Internet.

    In 1986, the ACLU joined the gay rights movement by creating a “Gay and Lesbian Project,” designed to defend and promote sodomy.

·   It filed a lawsuit that sought to force the City of Baltimore to accept same-sex marriage.

·   It defended the wearing of obscene T-shirts in public.

·   It challenged Virginia’s ban on nude teenage camps.

·   It defended a transsexual being tried for falsifying information when filling out a so-called marriage license.

·   In Kansas, it tried to lower the sexual age of consent to 13, thereby making children available to pedophiles.

·   It won a court action that allowed a convicted child molester to hang around children in a public park and fantasize about having sex with them.

·   It claims to “do more litigation” in support of abortion than any other group in the U.S.

    The ACLU has jumped in – screaming, arms flailing -- whenever anyone attempts to pray in public school, on campus, in public buildings, or on public grounds.

·   It has opposed all signs of Christmas in public places, including: the singing of “Silent Night,” nativity scenes, and the depiction of shepherds and wise men.

·   It forced the U.S. Park Service to remove three bronze plaques from the Grand Canyon because they contained Bible verses.

·   It demanded that a Bible be removed from a granite memorial in Houston.

·   It opposed a fundraising concert to benefit a county agency that served children because the scheduled program included Gospel music.

·   It pressured a school district into denying Christians rebuttal time after a pro-homosexual organization had presented an assembly program.

·   It forced the City of Los Angeles to remove a cross from its seal, which contained other historical symbols as well.

·   It sued a Louisiana school district because the teachers organized an adult prayer group.

Question: Do you think the ACLU defends the civil liberties of Christians?

ACLU Outlines To Overturn Traditional Marriage State By State August 20, 2004 – The American Civil Liberties Union has published a strategy memo on its web site that describes how it will pursue lawsuits in state courts to overturn traditional marriage.  http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1829

The ACLU wants to end Christmas as a Holiday, remove "In God We Trust" from money, stop Congress from each day in prayer, stop courts from using a Bible to swear in witnesses, end the practice of using the Bible for the Presidential oath, force the Boy Scouts to remove any mention of God from their oath if they utilize public facilities or land, and to accept openly homosexual Scout Masters, remove all Christian Religion scripture passages and symbols from headstones in military cemeteries and all public properties, outlaw government employees from bringing Bibles to work, even if they will be read only during breaks or lunch, stop government employees from displaying the Ten Commandments or other Christian religious texts in their offices, discontinue tax-deductible contributions to churches, etc. And liberal Democrats  agree with this ant-Christian agenda.

TVC’s report on the ACLU describes more about this organization’s anti-Christian agenda.

American Center For Law & Justice (ACLJ) is fighting the ACLU on these fronts:

* The ACLU has challenged the federal ban on PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION in three separate cases that are on their way to the U.S. Circuit Court. We believe this issue will ultimately have to be decided by the Supreme Court of the United States ... so we are building the strongest possible legal foundation in these cases - even as we fight the ACLU's challenges along the way!

* The ACLU is ruthlessly trying to REDEFINE MARRIAGE to include same-sex couples. But at every level where marriage between one man and one woman is threatened - from federal and state courts on down - we are taking a stand ... and we will keep fighting to preserve marriage in America!

* The ACLU refuses to give up their ANTI-FAITH CAMPAIGN against public displays of the Ten Commandments. Right now we are involved in several cases nationwide where we are trying to protect these displays from the ACLU - in one, we are petitioning the Supreme Court to review ACLU of Ohio v. Adams County; in another, we're petitioning the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals to rehear ACLU v. Ashbrook after a three-judge panel ruled a Ten Commandments poster hanging in a judge's courtroom was unconstitutional.

* The ACLU continues their assault against religious freedom in their latest campaign: to threaten LEGAL ACTION against any U.S. town that features a cross in its official seal. Our legal team is committed to fighting each and every attack, and we are prepared to do whatever it takes to protect your religious liberty!

ACLU to monitor Boyd's compliance - By MIKE JAMES - The Independent (the Daily Independent, Ashland, KY) 8-3-04 - SUMMIT - The American Civil Liberties Union will monitor compliance with anti-harassment training requirements at Boyd County middle and high schools, a spokeswoman said Tuesday. The organization will want to know whether all the students at the two schools are getting the training, which is mandatory under the terms of a court order settling a lawsuit against the district by a gay-rights club at Boyd County High School, said Chris Hampton, spokeswoman for the ACLU's Lesbian and Gay Rights Project. Some parents have said they will take their children out of school on the day of the training. So far, the worst consequence for students who don't go to school for the training would be an unexcused absence, according to Superintendent Bill Capehart. And so far, the plan for the training doesn't include any make-up provision for those who miss the original session. The district should have some mechanism for make-up sessions for students who miss the training, Hampton said. "The school agreed to make the training mandatory for all students," she said. "Of course, we'll pay attention to whether they keep up their end of the bargain." There is no specific number of absences that would trigger action by the ACLU, Hampton said. Teachers and staff throughout the district took anti-harassment training Monday and Tuesday. Those sessions were well-attended, Capehart said. An allegation that a local clergyman had been allowed to meet with teachers at the high school to discuss ways to avoid the training was false, Capehart said. Meetings on district property to discuss circumventing the training wouldn't be allowed, but meetings away from school property aren't a concern of the district, Capehart said. "If it took place in someone else's domain the only thing I'd be concerned about would be my need to enforce the consent decree where it says mandatory training," he said. Hampton denied allegations that the ACLU had threatened legal action over the supposed meetings. ACLU attorneys had written to the district's attorneys saying they had heard that Rev. Tim York, active in opposition to the Gay-Straight Alliance that filed the suit, had been allowed to meet with staffers at the high school. "The letter didn't threaten anything. It just reminded them of what they'd agreed to," Hampton said. "We'd heard there was a meeting at the school and at churches. They can talk about it all they want," she said. York said he hadn't met with staff on district property, but has talked to staffers about "not just how to avoid it, but how to deal with the whole issue." "I will help them any way I can legally to protect the teachers and the staffers from what I feel, and many others feel, is reverse discrimination by forcing them to hear the homosexual agenda as a curriculum." TVC Publishes Report On Anti-Christian ACLU

July 30, 2004 – The American Civil Liberties Union is on an anti-Christian campaign to remove all Christian symbols from public display.

The current effort to remove any vestige of Christianity from public life began back in the 1920s when the ACLU first gained political power in the United States. Its founder, Roger Baldwin, was a Unitarian socialist who supported Joseph Stalin and whose close friends included leaders of the Communist Party, USA, including a Soviet spy.

While attacking Christian symbols, the ACLU has also defended pornographers, child molesters, and homosexuals who wish to adopt children.

The head of the ACLU is Anthony Romero who took over leadership in 2001. Romero is described on the ACLU web site as an "openly gay" man. He formerly worked for the Ford Foundation where he funneled $90 million to leftist causes including anti-war, pro-abortion, homosexual, immigration reform, and feminist organizations.

TVC’s new report, "The ‘Anti-Christian’ Civil Liberties Union" describes the history and current objectives of the ACLU to strip our nation of its Christian heritage—and to defend the enemies of traditional morality.

Unlike ACLU,  ACLJ is truly dedicated to preserving our rights and freedoms as stated in the Constitution.

The ACLU is coming after YOU. (September 30, 2003)

They're targeting your religious freedoms so aggressively that they are actually trying to remove the Ten Commandments from all public view across this country. But we are fighting back - and WE NEED YOUR HELP to take on the ACLU for the sake of preserving your freedom. Your generous online gift will help us as we aggressively work on SIX Ten Commandment cases at this moment! We know these cases are winnable - we have legal precedent on our side.

Only recently, a federal district court judge in Wisconsin SET ASIDE an earlier order declaring a Ten Commandments monument to be unconstitutional - and granted a motion clearing the way for the ACLJ to represent the monument's owner, who will now be a party in the case!  Other courts have been especially supportive of public display of the Ten Commandments when they're displayed in context with the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta, and the Constitution to show how they shaped our laws down through history. Yet THE ONSLAUGHT CONTINUES - in case after case after case across this nation. Over and over, ACLU lawyers are standing before judges, writing to school boards, lobbying lawmakers, and grandstanding to the public - attempting to convince America that it's wrong to display the Ten Commandments in public.

No wonder we have SIX ACLU-related cases under way right now:

* ACLU of Nebraska v. Plattsmouth
* ACLU of Kentucky v. Mercer County
* ACLU of Kentucky v. Garrard County
* ACLU v. Ashbrook
* Baker v. Adams County
* Freedom from Religion v. La Crosse, Wisconsin

It's clear that at least one of these cases is likely to go all the way up to the Supreme Court of the United States. This means our arguments in each of these cases must be extremely well researched and prepared - because we are likely to have to DEFEND OUR WORK eventually, FACE-TO-FACE BEFORE THE JUSTICES OF THE HIGH COURT!

At the same time, we are closely monitoring and preparing to assist in, if necessary, another SEVEN Ten Commandments cases around the country, each one with serious implications for your religious liberties. (And in fact, we have been involved in seven OTHER Ten Commandments cases over the past several years!)

The ACLU has demonstrated that they will not quit - so we have no choice but to make an equally radical commitment:  WE WILL NEVER ALLOW THEIR CHALLENGES TO STAND. If they are dedicated to sniffing out every Ten Commandments monument and display across this country, we will pursue them. But to keep up, we must have the faithful and generous support of every member of the American Center for Law and Justice.

WE NEED YOU TODAY. Working on these Ten Commandments cases on top of our heavy Supreme Court caseload - and all our other cases across the nation - translates into intensive financial strain. We urge you today to prayerfully consider giving a major gift to help us fight back against the ACLU, to protect public displays of the Ten Commandments and YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOMS. PLEASE LET ME HEAR FROM YOU RIGHT AWAY. Your generosity today is vitally important; you'll be making a huge impact - and we will be deeply grateful. Thank you! ACLJ

ACLU Sues To Protect Teen Nudist Camp July 2, 2004 – The ACLU filed a lawsuit in federal court in Virginia on June 29 to prevent the state from shutting down a nudist camp for children at White Tail Park. Read Article

The city council of San Diego, California, has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union over public land that the city has leased to the Boy Scouts of America for decades. According to a SignOnSanDiego.com report, the city has agreed to pay the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties $950,000 in court costs and attorneys fees, and will ask a federal judge to enter a ruling voiding the lease that has allowed the Scouts to use land in Balboa Park for nearly 50 years. The ACLU sued the city and the Boy Scouts Desert-Pacific Council in August 2000 on behalf of two boys, one raised by a lesbian couple and the other by an agnostic couple. The ACLU has contended in its suit that the Scouts should be evicted from the park grounds because the organization discriminates on the basis of sexuality and religion. Last year, a U.S. District judge ruled that the Scouts' Balboa Park lease did indeed violate the state and federal constitution and that the case could proceed to trial. Although both the Scouts and the ACLU have been preparing for the court battle, this recent settlement decision in effect allows the City of San Diego to cut its losses and step aside, leaving the Boy Scouts to fight the ACLU alone. A deputy city attorney was quoted as saying "It's [the Scouts'] lease. The defense of the case properly rests with them."  Scouts representatives have said they will continue to fight the ACLU, but added that they were staggered by the settlement amount, which will provide funding for the ACLU's continued attack on the Boy Scouts. VICTORIOUS IN ALABAMA, A.C.L.U. TARGETS ANOTHER BIBLE-BELT JUDGE - It appears the American Civil Liberties Union has a new target in its campaign to eradicate the nation of public displays of the Ten Commandments.  This time it involves a judge in Arkansas. "This country is in the midst of its second civil war. It only differs from the first civil war in that it is, thank God, non-violent. But the passions are as deep, and the stakes are just as high. Among the stakes is whether America will remain a Judeo-Christian country with a secular government or become a secular country with a secular government. Organizations such as the ACLU (and your local university) devote massive funds and effort to changing the nature of this country; and with the help of like-minded judges, often prevail. That the ACLU would write a letter protesting three little plaques at the Grand Canyon with verses from the book of Psalms provides a clear example of how intent the organization is on destroying the Judeo-Christian moral foundations of this society. This, after all, is the same ACLU that went to court in Florida to protect a Muslim woman's right to be photographed for her driver's license ID wearing a veil! If it ain't Judeo-Christian, the ACLU is a big fan of religion." --Dennis Prager - The Federalist Brief 03-33

An Iowan citizens group is calling the ACLU to task for not opposing an Army Corps of Engineers proposal to construct a Muslim summer camp on federal land.  The Army Corps of Engineers has put its stamp of approval on a plan to build the nation's first summer camp for Muslims on a tract of federal land north of Iowa City.  Greg Evans is with Concerned Citizens of Johnson County, which opposes the project.  Evans thinks it is outrageous that the American Civil Liberties Union does not seem to care that the government is endorsing the religion of Islam.  He says when his organization contacted the ACLU regarding the Iowa proposal, the legal organization appeared to be disinterested and indifferent about the matter.  And yet, Evans points out, when mere Christian symbols are displayed on government land, the ACLU "goes ballistic."  He points to a recent episode in the Mojave Desert when a veterans group was forced to cover a cross with a burlap bag "as though it were a shameful thing."  Evans says it is quite evident that the ACLU has chosen to discriminate against Christianity. AgapePress News Summary (August 7, 2003)

A.D.F. ATTORNEY SAYS A.C.L.U. THREATENS TO CENSOR RELIGIOUS HERITAGE - The ACLU -- which touts itself as "our nation's guardian of liberty" -- has already succeeded in pressuring the National Park Service into removing popular scripture-quoting plaques along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Now the group want a Ten Commandments monument removed from Wesley Bolin Park in Phoenix. More details:  http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/7/242003a.asp

...the Supremes turned aside a ruling on Kentucky's appeal of a 6th U.S. Circuit Court decision in favor of the ACLU's objection to the state legislature's vote to place a granite monument of the Ten Commandments as part of a display recognizing the foundations of U.S. law. ...Which raises a serious question: If the Supremes will not defend the Kentucky state legislature's right to display the Ten Commandments, will they defend the rights of citizens to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to our "one nation, under God"? On the subject of "one nation, under God," in other ACLU efforts to remove all vestiges of prayer from public life, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Virginia Military Institute's tradition of saying grace before evening meal was not constitutional. "In establishing its supper prayer, VMI has done precisely what the First Amendment forbids," the Appeals panel ruled. NO -- the First Amendment says, explicitly, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...." Only in the most liberal construction of the Constitution could one think prayer at VMI is in any way an establishment of religion. Without missing a beat, the ACLU put the U.S. Naval Academy on notice that they were next in line to be sued over this issue. Next stop for this case is the Supreme Court, which opens every proceeding with this Proclamation: "God save the United States and this Honorable Court." All this in the week we celebrate the National Day of Prayer....  Thomas Jefferson warned, "The opinion which gives to the judges the right to decide what laws are constitutional and what not, not only for themselves in their own sphere of action but for the Legislature and Executive also in their spheres, would make the Judiciary a despotic branch." And, indeed, that is now the case -- precisely why, as we noted above, the Left wants to retain control of the courts. The Federalist 03-18 Brief

ACLU Launches Nationwide Effort to Force ‘Gay’-Straight Alliances on Schools  By Martha Kleder  1/29/2003 Concerned Woman For America.  “They admit this is a Trojan horse,” said Culture and Family Institute’s senior policy analyst Peter LaBarbera. “Homosexual activists know that rural communities are the most resistant to their agenda, so in order to force their way into schools, they are using the cover of the well-funded ACLU.”

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union seeking removal of the Ten Commandments from a county courthouse in Kentucky.  Mercer County officials posted the Ten Commandments along with the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and other historical texts in a display titled "Foundations of American Law and Government."  Judge Karl Forester said the display clearly has a legitimate secular purpose in acknowledging the historical influence of the Ten Commandments on the development of law in the United States. The judge also said he saw no evidence indicating a religious purpose by Mercer County officials.  It is the ACLU's first defeat in a string of lawsuits challenging postings of the Ten Commandments in government buildings in Kentucky. AgapePress News Summary January 24, 2002

The ACLU is fighting for free access to internet pornography, legalized drugs, violent and sexually explicit entertainment as protected free speech, no school prayer, but comprehensive sex education, including homosexuality and use of condoms, legalized prostitution, abortion on demand, freedom to desecrate the flag, legalized polygamy, same-sex marriage, "hate crime" or "special rights" laws, censorship of the Ten Commandments, etc. All only to further the socialistic agenda to overturn the freedom and American way of life - and the ultra-liberals and popular media are feeding and supporting their cause.

And just as recent cases depict, the ACLU has not changed their course of deception or their socialist agenda. Don't let the media deceive you also, as it appears the media prefers socialism over freedom.

* Barry Lynn, advocate of free speech and pornography is trying to have a video tape censored.

* The ACLU sued the Shawnee County (Kansas) treasurer for displaying this nation's motto, "In God We Trust."  The ACLJ went to her defense, and the U.S. District Court in Topeka completely dismissed the ACLU's outrageous lawsuit!

* The ACLJ finalized a settlement agreement clearing the way for the mayor of Gilbert, Arizona, to issue a Bible Week proclamation. The ACLU had insisted that she was out of bounds, but we argued that a Bible Week proclamation simply reflects a tradition of commemorating matters of importance to the life of a community.

* Do not be deceived by the ploy that Ira Glasser Executive Director of the ACLU would have you believe they are only defending the Constitution. Nor Nadine Strossen, President of the ACLU, as she has stated: " We adamantly oppose any effort to restrict sexual speech not only because it would violate our cherished First Amendment freedoms...but also because it would undermine our equality, our status, our dignity, and our autonomy." (Defending Pornography, by Nadine Strossen, Scribner, 1995) The ACLU is guilty of selective tolerance against Christianity and violates the same freedom of speech for Christians.

* The American Civil Liberties Union is in a tizzy again. They are going to court in an effort to halt federally-funded school programs that teach sexual abstinence. The organization filed suit against the state of Louisiana for the so-called "abuse" of tax dollars to "promote religious beliefs" because some abstinence programs utilize biblical texts. This is, of course, unforgivable to ACLU lawyers. The only way they will consent to tax dollars being used in a religious context is if an artist, under the federally funded National Endowments of Art (NEA), is urinating on a photo of the Cross of Christ or smearing dung on a portrait of the Virgin Mary. But in no way can the Bible be mentioned in teaching kids how to positively conduct their lives. Recommend teens to visit Sex Respect.

After Morning Edition's interview touting Ira Glasser of the ACLU I believe you owe it to your listeners to interview either Thomas B. Silver from The Claremont Institute (http://www.claremont.org) or Jay Alan Sekulow from The American Center For Law and Justice (http://www.aclj.org) concerning their thoughts on what is really driving the ACLU.

I don't recall hearing any mention of Roger Baldwin's love of Marxism, socialism, or the propaganda the media (NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc.) Joseph Stalin would be proud of.

Even the basic reporting of "news" during the election was so obviously biased towards socialism (democrats). Where is the honor in this for NPR?

And now this morning, on the education piece (7:10am EST) NPR's showing their hand in being as negative to George W. Bush as it was positive towards Bill Clinton.

Our nation is under attack! (October 22, 2002)

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has launched their latest offensive on the SAFETY and SECURITY of our nation - a $3.5 million campaign called "Keep America Safe and Free."

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) wants you to think they are on your side ... they want you to think they are fighting for freedom and justice ... THEY ARE NOT!

They say the campaign will "defend the Constitution." But it is really designed to undermine the Attorney General John Ashcroft's and the Justice Department's anti-terrorism efforts.

The ACLU's purpose is to strip this country of religious freedom, morality, and liberty. And their latest attempt is a $3.5 million campaign called "Keep America Safe and Free."

The real purpose of their campaign is to attack Attorney General John Ashcroft and the Justice Department's efforts to protect you and your family from terrorists!

The ACLU intends to repeal portions of the USA PATRIOT ACT - a critical package of legislation that received wide bi-partisan support and was signed into law by President Bush. The ACLU should not be the sole voice on issues of national security!

Under the guise of "protecting civil liberties," the ACLU is attacking our government's ability to secure the nation and protect our liberties.

· They are mobilizing their 53 offices around the nation, and their 300,000 members to "litigate, organize and lobby."

· They are rolling out advertisements to push their views onto the public.

· They are bombarding the courts with a variety of lawsuits.

Trusting God for His provision through key friends like you, I have set this effort in motion by:

· already meeting the ACLU in the court of law wherever they issue a challenge;

· already filing briefs in cases where the ACLU challenges anti-terrorism legislation;

· already launching a public information campaign with advertisements on national radio and in newspapers to alert the American public to the threat;

· already meeting with members of the United States Congress and their key staff on responses to the legal challenges of the ACLU;

· continuing to work with Congress to turn back any attempt by the ACLU to repeal any portion of the USA PATRIOT ACT, which was approved by a wide bi-partisan vote in Congress and signed into law by the President;

· already preparing to send a strong message of disagreement straight to the ACLU, challenging the notion that they are the voice of the people.

The American Center (ACLJ) has sprung into action for the safety of you and your family! We are going head-to-head against the ACLU's twisted efforts with our counter-offensive campaign - PROTECTING LIBERTY.

But you can fight for your family's SAFETY and SECURITY by signing the American Center's PETITION OF SUPPORT for the Attorney General.

Through this petition of support, you can make a difference by joining the American Center's PROTECTING LIBERTY counter-offensive campaign. PROTECTING LIBERTY will combat this dangerous ACLU campaign.

We cannot back down from this battle! So not only are we launching this petition campaign, but the American Center is taking other aggressive action through PROTECTING LIBERTY that includes:

- already meeting the ACLU in the court of law as they file lawsuits;

- already filing briefs in cases where the ACLU challenges anti-terrorism legislation;

- already launching a public information campaign with advertisements on national radio to alert the American public to the threat;

- already meeting with members of the United States Congress and their key staff on responses to the legal challenges of the ACLU;

- continuing to work with Congress to turn back any attempt by the ACLU to repeal any portion of the USA PATRIOT ACT, which was approved by a wide bi-partisan vote in Congress and signed into law by the President;

- already preparing to send a strong message of disagreement straight to the ACLU, challenging the notion that they are the sole voice of the people.

Instead of standing united with our nation's leaders against terrorism, the ACLU has declared war on our own government through lawsuits and lobbying.

At the heart of this huge campaign, is a vicious attack on America's chief law enforcement officer, Attorney General John Ashcroft.

They accuse him of "violating civil liberties," creating "fear," and sacrificing "liberty for security." NONSENSE!

The ACLU has mercilessly harassed Attorney General John Ashcroft from the day he was nominated by President Bush to be Attorney General. You and I know he is an outstanding, highly qualified, and morally upright leader.

This is nothing new - the ACLU has frequently targeted our highly qualified Attorney General from day one.

But the ACLU wants to CRIPPLE OUR GOVERNMENT'S FIGHT FOR YOUR SECURITY. Their efforts could prevent law enforcement from tracking and detaining terrorists who are bent on the destruction of our nation, our way of life.

We cannot allow that to happen! We must respond aggressively to this new onslaught by the ACLU.

Such a massive effort is costly and we cannot do it alone. Your support today is critical.

The well-financed machine of the ACLU can move at high speed.

This attack on the federal government's right to protect America is one of the most dangerous actions in the history of the ACLU. We must engage in this battle for the future of our country ... for your children and grandchildren ... for your own safety.

Please consider supporting The American Center For Law And Justice as they confront these attacks of the ACLU.

It is time to fight back and work to put an end to these attacks ... before the ACLU places your family and this country at risk.

That is why I am asking you to sign our online PETITION OF SUPPORT for the Attorney General, the Justice Department, and the fight against terrorists.

And when you have signed our petition, please forward this email on to your family and friends. We need as many voices for freedom as possible.

Our political leaders and the ACLU need to hear the voice of the people. They need to know that most Americans want a SAFE, SECURE place to raise their children and grandchildren and that we have little patience for those who threaten our LIBERTY!

We will amass all the signatures from concerned Americans like you and send the petition to Attorney General Ashcroft, President George W. Bush, members of Congress, and even the ACLU!

The ACLU wants to prevent law enforcement from tracking and detaining terrorists who want to destroy you and me.
