Land of the servants, home of the complacent
If America was established upon
Biblical moral virtue, what are the chances the American Way of Life
will be restored with progressive liberal secularism? Can we count on
the secular principles of “The
One,” who progressives had made their lord, or should we return to
the righteousness of “the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” and Lord to America’s Founders?
“We cannot afford to differ on the question of honesty if we expect our
republic permanently to endure. Honesty is not so much a credit as an
absolute prerequisite to efficient service to the public. Unless a man
is honest, we have no right to keep him in public life; it matters not
how brilliant his capacity.”
Theodore Roosevelt
When each of us are giving the
choices in 2010, will we continue to choose progressive liberals bent on
secularism, which cannot with clarity, establish any valid moral
boundaries, or will we return to call upon men and woman of Christ as
our leaders?
"When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public
officers' let it be impressed upon your mind that God commands you to
choose for rulers just men who will rule in the fear of God. The
preservation of a republican government depends upon the faithful
discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place
unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted ... If
a republican government fails ... it must be because the citizens
neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer
the laws."
And
"It is the sincere desire of the writer that our citizens should early
understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is
the Bible, particularly the New Testament or the Christian religion."
Noah Webster
Albeit there are many politicians
with sincere intentions, yet are those aims based upon the same Rock
upon which our Founders built, a Republic which provided a nation that
was to “entitle” or establish “Rights”
based on the boundaries of “the
Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God?” And what was their primary
source? What was their intent?
"A compromise which results in a half-step toward evil is all wrong."
Theodore Roosevelt
How would the Founders address the
issues today concerning honesty and respect in the free market, free
speech, the degradation of our children, and the challenge of God’s
design for marriage? Would “the
Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” be followed or compromised and
violated as they are today?
The people in general ought to have regard to the moral character of
those whom they invest with authority either in the legislative,
executive, or judicial branches.
John Witherspoon
And if it seem evil unto you to
serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods
of secularism under the deception of the “wall of separation,” or the
God of our Founders, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house,
we will serve the LORD.
"Statesmen my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is
Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon
which Freedom can securely stand. ... The only foundation of a free
Constitution is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our
People, in a great Measure, than they have it now, They may change their
Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting
Liberty." John
Adams
As America succumbs to progressive
liberal secularism, will our children ever understand how the American
Way of Life was enjoyed when the majority of citizens still possessed
respect, personal responsibility, accountability, and commitment, or
will self-centeredness, lust, entertainment, greed, and power continue
to reign over righteousness?
"Is there no virtue among us? If there be not, we are in a wretched
situation. No theoretical checks-no form of government can render us
secure. To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or
happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea, if
there be sufficient virtue and intelligence in the community, it will be
exercised in the selection of these men. So that we do not depend on
their virtue, or put confidence in our rulers, but in the people who are
to choose them."
James Madison
Can we expect Republicans or
conservative pundits to come to the rescue who do not appreciate this
foundation and the boundaries our Founders established? Would they be
willing to sacrifice life, family, and property and boldly stand for
those same Biblical moral values of our Founders?
"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What
should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better
than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of
freedom...crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your
chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our
countrymen!"
Samuel Adams
America has obviously ignored the
warnings and that complacency has brought this Great Nation to the point
of socialism.
“If the next century does not find us a great nation... it will be
because those who represent the... morality of the nation do not aid in
controlling the political forces.” James Garfield
If we ignore the “idiot light” in
the aftermath of 2008, then 2010 and 2012 could well prove us idiots,
and idiots without liberty, in what used to be the land of the free and
the home of the brave.
"A vote is like a rifle: its usefulness depends upon the character of
the user." Theodore Roosevelt
