What is the Kingdom of God?
Will our descendents know virtue?

...and challenging our wisdom....

Spending Bush's 'political capital' by Phyllis Schlafly (1/3) Conservative voters gave Republican politicians their best Christmas in at least half a century, conferring majorities at nearly all levels of government.

From Federalist Patriot No. 05-01 Digest (You're missing most of the Federalist insight if this is the only exposure you see.)
"We are six percent or less of the world's population, yet we give almost half. We are a very small number of people, relatively speaking, and we carry the weight of a dozen countries. Secondly, we maintain a military structure that keeps the peace of the world. ... Who is in the Indian Ocean with the aircraft carriers, helicopters, skilled personal? No one has the infrastructure in the world, we spend almost half a trillion dollars a year on our military structure, which is essentially the fire department of the planet and it is always at the disposal of people hit in a national disaster. ... Incidentally on food aid, we give 60% of all the food aid in the world. It is simply irresponsible to talk about the U.S. as anything other than the most generous nation on the planet." --Charles Krauthammer

Judge Bury, appointed in 2002 by President Bush, said, "As undocumented aliens illegally present in the United States, Plaintiffs do not have a property interest in any welfare benefits 'that are not federally mandated' and are not entitled to due-process protections regarding any such non-federally mandated benefits."

Regarding tax reform, Patriot 04-50 (http://federalistpatriot.us/pub/04-50_Digest.htm) concluded that the so-called "FairTax" system should command the attention of the Congress. Ideally, it would eliminate not only payroll withholding but the IRS as well. In doing so, it would replace the federal income tax with a national sales tax on all but essential goods and services. The FairTax holds great merit and deserves serious consideration by the Congress. Nevertheless, rumors abound that tax reform may remain on the legislative backburner until 2006, when election-year pressures and growing public support could give the plan the support it needs to overcome fierce opposition from the Left.

Litigious atheist-activist Michael Newdow is back -- as he threatened, and we warned he'd be. You'll recall that the Supreme Court last year tossed out his lawsuit contending that the words "under God" make the Pledge of Allegiance recited in public school classrooms an unconstitutional establishment of a national religious denomination. The Supremes did so on something of a dodge, opining that Newdow lacked standing because he is not custodial parent for the daughter he cited in his suit. This time, Newdow has enlisted an anonymous slate of custodial parents and government-school students in his renewed legal onslaught. This isn't a trifling matter, as Newdow's ridiculous claims were supported through the lower courts, and only four of the Supremes are on the record knocking down his argument.
We issue a simple challenge to every pro-atheism activist of Newdow's ilk: Explain any way in which the demand for expelling all exercise of religious liberty from public spheres differs from a declaration that atheism is the government's officially established religious view. Any takers? We didn't think so.

As for Newdow, some have suggested that he move to France. Indeed, he could practice both his atheist and anti-American sentiments there by starting a campaign to have some of these crosses removed. (See http://FederalistPatriot.US/news/priceofliberty.asp)

Speaking of homosexuals activists, they are, once again, targeting children -- this time with "family-friendly" cartoon characters such as Barney and SpongeBob. Teacher lesson plans promoting homosexual coupling as "normal," including a video using the hit 70s tune "We Are Family" starring Barney and SpongeBob, will be distributed to 61,000 public and private elementary schools nationwide on 11 March to coincide with a proposed "National We Are Family Day." Some of the "partners" in production are: Anti-Defamation League, Crown Theatres, Disney Channel, FedEx (providing shipping), Nickelodeon, HIT Entertainment, Nile Rodgers/Sony Publishing/The Bernard Edwards Estate/Warner Chapel, Nelvana, PBS, Scholastic, Sesame Workshop, Toni Mendez Shapiro Estate, and WGBH-TV in Boston. (Be sure and thank them!) Along with a lengthy list of popular kids' shows ("Arthur," "Blue's Clues," "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "Little Mermaid," and "The Magic School Bus," just to name a few), the video also features cameo appearances by entertainers Bill Cosby, Diana Ross and long-time Village Idiot Whoopi Goldberg.
