"Motives are irrelevant - I want to deal with facts." Where is the clear, credible evidence that underage sex is always injurious? If you tell me because it is illegal - I reject that." U.S. District Judge J. Opinion

From Federalist 06-06 Digest - According to public schools in California, Islam is quite free, modern and historically accurate. We're as shocked as you, fellow Patriots! A Houghton-Mifflin history textbook, widely used in California, states unequivocally, among other things, that "Muhammad's revelations occurred from 610 [A.D.] until his death in 632." Further, Islam is depicted as tolerant of other religions (if massacring "infidels" is tolerant) and superior to other religions: "[T]he Quran completes the earlier revelations of Old Testament prophets and Jesus. The Quran is the final revelation, just as Muhammad is the final prophet... Muslims considered these other religions [Christianity and Judaism] to be less correct. That is because the Quran teaches that the Bible has suffered loss and change with time." If that weren't enough, terrorist apologetics is next: "An Islamic term that is often misunderstood is jihad. It means 'to struggle,' to do one's best to resist temptation and overcome evil." Now there's a foreign-policy strategy! One very evident evil that should definitely be overcome is the blatant lies this textbook puts forth as historical "fact."

CALVIN AND HOBBES — AND MUHAMMAD - Ann Coulter - As my regular readers know, I've long been skeptical of the "Religion of Peace" moniker for Muslims — for at least 3,000 reasons right off the top of my head. I think the evidence is going my way this week

What do The New York Times and Marilyn Manson have in Common? -Doug Giles - Let me see if I get this right: in smarmy, liberal America-ville, it’s cool to celebrate a painting of the virgin Mary covered in dung, a picture of Jesus marinating in urine, a play in which Jesus is depicted as gay and TV shows and movies that mock Christ and Christianity; but it is uncool to run a Danish cartoon slamming Islam’s irrational rage, because that would be a “gratuitous assault” on the Muslim religion?  Well, cock-a-doodle-do.

Must See

The democratic party, what a swell group. - Allan's Newsletter - The democrats are one of our two major political parties, and certainly the loudest. I am not promoting ANY party by sharing this, but I am showing you the truths of the democratic party, as seen through the uncorrupted and simple eyes of youth. My young nephew asked me the other day just what it meant to be a democrat, what they believed in.

With President's Day approaching, Ken Mehlman of GOP.com sent an email asking for thoughts on the Party of Lincoln.  Offered the following "thoughts" and included Lincoln's own words.

The GOP would do well to return to the VIRTUE of Lincoln, Washington, Samuel Adams, John Adams, et. al. in its entirety and not kowtow to liberals. VIRTUE is NOT accepting the permeation of the EVIL of immorality. VIRTUE does NOT accept the DECEPTION through the misuse of words like "discrimination, tolerance, diversity, morals, values, bigotry, hate, fear," and most annoying, "safety." He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

Stand fast for the original intent of the Constitution, for the first, second, and fifth amendments have been attacked and weakened because the GOP did not stand firm.

The GOP might do well to reconsider these words and warning from Abraham Lincoln:

"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven; we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to fell the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us."

"The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just."

“You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.”

"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man All the good from the Saviour of the world is communicated through this Book; but for the Book we could not know right from wrong, All the things desirable to man are contained in it."

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" Isaiah 5:20

"And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea." Jesus - Matthew 18:5-6 NIV

Little Faith - Why Are the Mountains Standing Still? - By T. M. Moore - Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith.” (Matthew 17:19, 20) For me, this account of Jesus and His disciples and the demon-possessed child captures as well as anything in Scripture the state of Christian faith in America today. Here are the disciples—highly visible, well-meaning, and feverishly busy in the work of the Lord—yet totally unable to affect the status quo, and not certain why. Sound familiar?
