The Heritage War

Quotes - Offered in Federalist 06-07 Chronicle

"The ruling class has the schools and press under its thumb. This enables it to sway the emotions of the masses." —Albert Einstein

"Today's left quotes the text of the Constitution as if it means what it says on searches and seizures, though when it comes to behavior the left wishes to condone, the Constitution morphs into a 'living document' in constant need of updating to suit the times. Which is it?" —Cal Thomas

"[T]he argument of flexibility...goes something like this: The Constitution is over 200 years old and societies change. It has to change with society, like a living organism, or it will become brittle and break. But you would have to be an idiot to believe that." —Justice Antonin Scalia

The War on Terror

AgapePress ...A former Palestinian terrorist who came to know Christ in 1993 says there has never been a democracy anywhere in the Islamic world, and he is skeptical that it can happen now. Recently, Iraqi election officials certified the December 15 election results, paving the way for Parliament to convene within the next week or so. But Walid Shoebat, a onetime member of the Palestine Liberation Organization, says elections do not matter in the Middle East. "Democracy is only used in the Middle East during elections. After the election is over, a tyrant is elected ... an autocrat or a theocrat. It's always the same scenario," he says. There is no such thing as a moderate Islamic state, the former Muslim contends, adding that the Americans are "trying to establish something that's never been established before." However, Shoebat asserts, the reality that the U.S. must face is that its nation-building efforts in the Middle East are unlikely to create a mini-America, and more likely will create a mini-Iran. NYC Muslim Group Warns U.S.: 'Your Days are Numbered' So far, the violent riots that have erupted throughout the Muslim world over the Mohammed cartoons have not been repeated here in the U.S. But yesterday in New York City, one radical Islamic group was preaching a message that is anything but peaceful.

American Minute with Bill Federer - February 16

"From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" begins the Marine anthem, which recalls when the Muslim Barbary Pirates of North Africa committed terrorist acts on American ships, selling crews into slavery.

Tripoli demanded tribute and a treaty was attempted, but it was not honored as the Koran discouraged peace with "infidels":

 "Infidels are those who declare 'God is Christ, the son of Mary'"-Surah 5:17;
 "Infidels are those that say 'God is one of three in a Trinity'"-Surah 5:73;
 "Infidels are your sworn enemies"-Sura 4:101;
 "Make war on the infidels"-Sura 9:123;
 "When you meet the infidel in the battlefield strike off their heads"-Surah 47:4;
 "Muhammad is Allah's apostle, those who follow him are ruthless to the infidels"-Surah 48:29;
 "Take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends"-Surah 5:51.

President Thomas Jefferson finally sent in the Marines, and in what Admiral Horatio Nelson described as the "most bold and daring act of the age," Lieut. Stephen Decatur sailed his ship, the Intrepid, into the pirate harbor on the night of February 16, 1804, burned a captured ship and escaped unharmed amidst fierce enemy fire. The Marines then captured Tripoli and forced the Pasha to make peace on U.S. terms.

Probe finds terrorists in U.S. 'training for war' - Neighbors of Muslim encampment fear retaliation if they report to police - February 16, 2006 - The Pakistani terrorist group Jamaat ul Fuqra is using Islamic schools in the United States as training facilities, confirms a joint investigative report by an intelligence think tank and an independent reporter. A covert visit to an encampment in the Catskill Mountains near Hancock, N.Y., called "Islamberg" found neighboring residents deeply concerned about military-style training taking place there but frustrated by the lack of attention from federal authorities, said the report by the Northeast Intelligence Network, which worked with an Internet blogger, "CP," to publish an interim report. The neighbors interviewed, who asked not to be identified, said they feared retaliation if they were to make a report to law enforcement officials. "We see children – small children run around over there when they should be in school," one neighbor said. "We hear bursts of gunfire all of the time, and we know that there is military-like training going on there. Those people are armed and dangerous." The resident said his household gets "nothing but menacing looks from the people who go in and out of the camp, and sometimes they yell at us to mind our own business when we are just driving by."

To Ponder

Keys to Half-Dozen U.S. Ports Now In Hands of ... an Arab Company? A national defense expert and a former presidential candidate do not think it is in America's best interests to allow an Arab-owned company to operate six major ports in the U.S.

Democrats Hypocritical When Talking About 'Culture of Corruption' The Democrats are great when it comes to sending out a unified message. In this case, when it comes to lobbyists and influence pedaling, they love to point fingers at Republicans and talk about the "culture of corruption." However, once again, the left is big on talk, but short on facts. There may indeed be a culture of corruption in Washington, but it's a trough from which the Democrats are more than happy to drink.

Fifteen-year-old "Debbie" is the middle child in a close-knit Air Force family from suburban Phoenix, and a straight-A student -- the last person most of us would expect to be forced into the seamy world of sex trafficking. http://abcnews.go.com But Debbie, which is not her real name, is one of thousands of young American girls who authorities say have been abducted or lured from their normal lives and made into sex slaves. While many Americans have heard of human trafficking in other parts of the world -- Thailand, Cambodia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, for example -- few people know it happens here in the United States. The FBI estimates that well over 100,000 children and young women are trafficked in America today. They range in age from 9 to 19, with the average age being 11. For more on the Administration’s continuing war on trafficking in persons, we suggest you visit http://www.state.gov/g/tip/.

The Culture War

Letter Received from Senator Kerry (February 15, 2006) and a further request to the Senator.

=============================

Thank you for sharing your views with me regarding the Marriage Protection Amendment. I appreciate your comments.

Legislation has been introduced in the House of Representatives and in the Senate that would amend the U.S. Constitution to define marriage solely as a union between a man and a woman. The proposed Constitutional amendment would also prohibit states from passing laws to give legal recognition and benefits received by married couples to unmarried couples.

I do not support amending the Constitution with regards to marriage. I am concerned about the far-reaching effects such an amendment may have, including denying gay and lesbian Americans important and basic equal benefits. Furthermore, I believe those seeking this amendment are motivated by politics and the desire to divide Americans. Our Constitution should not be used to divide Americans but rather to bring us together.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to contact me on this or any particular issue of concern to you.

Sincerely, John F. Kerry United States Senator

=============================

Honorable Senator Kerry,

Have you been duped under the guise into the misuse of the words "normal, bullying, morals, values, bigotry, hate, tolerance, safety, discrimination, and diversity?" Have people like Kevin Jennings (GLSEN) successfully duped you and other legislators into legislating immorality as they have "educators" into deceptively teaching sin as "normal," even unto children of Judeo-Christian parents?

Then you indicate in your response that you "believe those seeking this amendment are motivated by politics and the desire to divide Americans." Who is dividing America? Are not YOU and your cohorts, who are calling YOUR Judeo-Christian constituents "bigots," the same Judeo-Christian parents being assaulted for their faith? Is this because YOU do not agree with the foundation of "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God!"

The question you have thus far avoided answering:

Are "unalienable Rights" of Americans "entitled" by "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" or was Thomas Jefferson wrong when he drafted America's first official document? Or do you prefer an unofficial letter he wrote to the Baptists that the left has completely misconstrued? (http://www.earstohear.net/Separation/letter.html)

Note: I also believe the opening two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence lays the foundation for our Constitution, yet somehow, liberals believe these documents which served us well until 1947 are now out-dated and need to be rewritten, as in the diminishing the original intent of the First, Second and Fifth Amendments. Yet you consider those who prefer to retain the original intent as divisive?
