Catching up....

The War on Terror (or otherwise known by those living in a "politically correct" make believe land of theory, that Muslims "insurgents" - not terrorists - are justified by their hatred of Israel and America.)

President John F. Kennedy - In his inaugural address said: "The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it—and the glow from that fire can truly light the world. And so, my fellow Americans—ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country...Let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own. There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction." Also: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."- In a speech to have been given November 22, 1963 These words were written by President John F. Kennedy that was to be delivered in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy never delivered the speech, but his written thoughts remain. "We in this country, in this generation, are by destiny rather than choice the watchman on the walls of world freedom. We ask therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, goodwill toward men. That must always be our goal. For as was written long ago, 'Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.'"

Commentary

"Is Islam Strong Enough to Handle Freedom? Are We?" by John C. Rankin (Also at Breakpoint at http://www.breakpoint.org/listingarticle.asp?ID=2754)

Churchill 101 - by Malcolm A. Kline - Thanks to the manner in which the Ivory Tower makes poster children of its most problematic professors and the zeal with which college administrators excise “dead white guys” from their curricula, Winston Churchill is probably not as well known on many American college campuses as Ward Churchill. Indeed, I found foundations, scholarships, institutes, centers and even high schools named after Great Britain’s most famous prime minister but few classes on his life and work. About the only college course on Winston Churchill that I could find on a quick Google search was one at Hillsdale. Perhaps some of the great man’s views rub academics the wrong way. “There are only two places where socialism can work; Heaven, where it is not needed, and Hell, where they already have it,” Churchill had said. “Churchill was 65 when he became prime minister [of Great Britain] in May of 1940,” Churchill’s most recent biographer, Deborah Brezina, notes. “In 1898, he saw radical Islam in battle in Sudan.”

Hezbollah Is Here By Michelle Malkin - Sheeple thought of the day: "Hezbollah is not my problem." You think Hezbollah is only Israel's headache? Wake up.

Terror sounding board to Americans: 'Vote Democratic' - Santorum speech on Islamofacists: A turning point in defining the enemy? by Wes Vernon Every American should know the enemy. That is basic. And so it was in that spirit that the two-term senator warned, "[E]very major Islamic fascist leader, from heads of state to heads of al-Qaeda and Hezbollah, has openly identified the United States as their prime target, and repeatedly promises the creation of a new global 'caliphate' where Islamic fascism will rule mankind. This language comes from Sunni and Shi'ite fanatics, whether Arab, Persian, Indonesian, American, or British."

A military draft? by Thomas Sowell - There was a time when most members of Congress had served in the military, as had many people in the media. Today that is no longer true -- and it shows in many ways.

In case you missed it....

The Clintons' War on Gun Rights By Tom Fitton What kind of President will Hillary Clinton make?

Issues in Education Quoting from Ronald Reagan’s August 23, 1984 speech, Issues in Education host Bob Boyd agrees, “Without God, there is no virtue, because there's no prompting of the conscience. If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Bob goes on to say, “Government schools have forgotten God. Across America school children are being exposed to ungodly forms of relationships, evolution, and hatred towards the values and morals of the God of the Bible.” In an effort to alert Christian parents to the dangers of government sponsored schools, Bob and Geri Boyd host a national radio ministry called Issues in Education. Their program airs weekly on over 500 radio stations nationwide featuring Christian authors and leaders who are helping parents discover the blessings of a Christian worldview home education. Denise Kanter with Considering Homeschooling Ministry joined Bob and Geri Boyd last week to discuss why it is important to homeschool in today’s culture.

DNC Hatches Plan to Combat State-Marriage Initiatives - Gay publication reveals secret strategy. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is weighing in on state marriage-protection amendment fights around the country. The nation's oldest political party has reportedly developed a five-point plan to fight ballot initiatives. The plan's existence was leaked by The Washington Blade, a pro-homosexual newspaper, that quoted a DNC spokesman last Friday saying there is a "five-point-plan."

Specifically, the Blade reported that Democrats would:

Senator Seeks to Create a Single Spending Database - Sen. Tom Coburn's (R-OK) idea is a simple one: You should know where your money is spent, by whom, and on what. His bill to require full disclosure of federal grants, subgrants, contracts, subcontracts, and other forms of financial aid was okayed last week by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. And this bill is even stronger than one sponsored in the House by Reps. Tom Davis (R-VA) and Roy Blunt (R-MO). "There is no single source of information explaining where federal money is spent and there should be," Coburn said. He wants you to be able to access this information readily. In a Congress that spends $1 billion every minute, such an idea is not universally popular. But we deserve to know and we need to know. Americans, for example, rarely are informed how many of their tax dollars go to support Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Public Broadcasting, and various other left-wing causes. This is an idea whose time has come. FRC strongly supports this vital legislation.

Book from EarsToHear.net - While conservative activists, columnists, and politicians continue to work to convince those on the secular left through worldly understanding and wisdom, have Christians lost sight of their higher calling? Christians are called to be "salt" and "Light" and to "reprove" (not judge) the world of sin, yet, this author wants to remind Christians to seek "first" the Kingdom of God for the harvest is truly great. The power of God DOES NOT follow the Christian - the power of God follows the preaching of His Word and His Kingdom.

If you enjoyed the "challenges" and Gospel of John quiz this book will challenge you further.

Lessons of the Holy Spirit

and
Discover Why it Pleased God to Hide His Kingdom from the Wise

It “pleased God” and “seemed good” to Him that we cannot know God through human wisdom or education. We can only know God through His Holy Spirit.

Education vs. revelation: Why we need to discern the difference between worldly wisdom and spiritual wisdom. "It is the Spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing."

Challenging both secular "wisdom" and Christian "doctrines." “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Do you wish to know Him as He knows you? “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
