GrasstopsUSA Action Item: On March 23, 2005, President Bush, President Fox of Mexico and Prime Minister Martin of Canada attended a "summit" in Texas. Afterwards, the three announced the signing of an "agreement" to form the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) and to "consolidate our action into a North American framework." And what does the phrase "North American framework" mean? READ ON!
Upfront
On
August 1, 1776, Samuel Adams stood before a large crowd on the steps of the
Philadelphia Statehouse and delivered a speech before the formal signing of
the Declaration Of Independence on August 2, 1776. In his speech he
stated: "We have explored the temple of Royalty and found that the idol
that we have bowed down to has Eyes which see not, Ears that hear not our
Prayers, and a heart like the nether millstone. We have this day restored the
Sovereign to Whom alone all men ought to be obedient; He reigns in Heaven, and
with a propitious Eye beholds His subjects assuming that freedom of thought,
and dignity of self direction, which He bestowed upon them. From the rising to
the setting Sun, may His Kingdom come."
Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40
In the same manner, the Constitution and Bill of Rights hang on Jefferson's first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence.
James Madison, the primary writer, and the one who provided the original draft of the Constitution, wrote to Thomas Jefferson in the year of the Declarations 50th anniversary, he wrote of its supremacy over our nations Constitution:
On the distinctive principles of the Government...of the U. States, the best guides are to be found in...The Declaration of Independence, as the fundamental Act of Union of these States.
"Before any man can be considered as a member of Civilized Society, he must first be considered as a subject of the Governor of the Universe." President James Madison, June 20, 1785
"To grant that there is a supreme intelligence who rules the world and has established laws to regulate the actions of his creatures; and still to assert that man, in a state of nature, may be considered as perfectly free from all restraints of law and government, appears to a common understanding altogether irreconcilable. Good and wise men, in all ages, have embraced a very dissimilar theory. They have supposed that the deity, from the relations we stand in to himself and to each other, has constituted an eternal and immutable law, which is indispensably obligatory upon all mankind, prior to any human institution whatever. This is what is called the law of nature....Upon this law depend the natural rights of mankind." Alexander Hamilton
How Long Do We Have? (From an email message)
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution
in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some
2,000 years earlier: "A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply
cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to
exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves
generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public
treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to
loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of
history, has varied. But those nations always progressed through
the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage"
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul,
Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000
Presidential election:
- Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million
- Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000
- States won by: Gore: 19; Bush: 29
- Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2; Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in
government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy,
with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached
the "governmental dependency" phase. If Congress grants amnesty and
citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they
vote, then goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
Pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing
that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

Apathy may result in our American descendents becoming unrepresented UN drones. The choice is either a government of the people, by the people, for the people, or a government of the unelected UN Security Council, by the Security Council, for the Security Council.
"Freedom is never more than a generation away from extinction." Ronald Reagan
Distinguishing between Patriots and cowards, our favorite Founder, Samuel Adams, said: "Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom...crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" PatriotPost.us
Addressing the New York Historical Society, 1852, Daniel Webster stated: "If we and our posterity...live always in the fear of God and shall respect His Commandments...we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of our country.... But if we...neglect religious instruction and authority; violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity."
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and what never will be." Thomas Jefferson
"God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it." Daniel Webster
"Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it." Thomas Paine
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Abraham Lincoln
"As riches increase and accumulate in few hands, as luxury prevails in society, virtue will be in a greater degree considered as only a graceful appendage of wealth, and the tendency of things will be to depart from the republican standard. This is the real disposition of human nature; it is what neither the honorable member nor myself can correct. It is a common misfortunate that awaits our State constitution, as well as all others." Alexander Hamilton (speech to the New York Ratifying Convention, June 1788) Reference: The Works of Alexander Hamilton, Henry Cabot Lodge, ed., II, 26.

The Reagan coalition is dead - - Long live what? - Maggie Gallagher - The Reagan coalition is dead. I came away from this weekend's National Review Institute's Conservative Summit in Washington, D.C., (where I spoke on a panel) with this thought reverberating in my brain. ...Notice too the defining characteristic of what GOP leaders like Jeb Bush offer to evangelical voters: talk. Talk about God, talk about families, talk about right and wrong. Democratic leaders have noticed this, too. Because if it's only a matter of talk, Dems can learn to do it, too, especially since (unlike conservatives) they can count on the courts to pass the base's social agendas.

Golden Grain Sermon by Dr. Charles S. Price
The God of ALL flesh Jesus still has the same problem with His disciples in these days as He did in the days of old. We insist on dealing with EXTERNALS instead of INTERNALS! There are those in these days who contend that a life lived OUTWARDLY as a Christian is sufficient, failing to remember that IT IS NO SUCH THING. The true CHRISTIAN LIFE is the LIFE OF CHRIST within the believer! The OUTWARD LIFE of the disciple is but a reflection, the effect and not the cause of the CHRIST (ian) LIFE WITHIN! What you are before God is determined by what HE IS allowed to be in you! ...You must not be discouraged, my friend. Jesus is closer than you think. Remember, He comes to you not because you are perfect in yourself, but to make you perfect in HIS PERFECTION! He walks with us, not as a reward for our "goodness," but in order that our contact with Him may prepare us for the impartation of His divine nature. He comes not to teach us how to live a Christian life, but what is sweeter, by far, HE COMES TO LIVE HIS LIFE IN US! (Click here for complete sermon.)
