Sneaky Lawyer Tricks SEN. SESSIONS DESCRIBES HOW THE WHITE HOUSE TRICKED SENATE NEGOTIATORS Senate Floor, May 23, 2007 (NumbersUSA.com) Here is what Sen. Sessions said the other day and it sums up quite nicely the terrible thing that George Bush, Ted Kennedy and John McCain have done to many Senators to whom we will give the benefit of the doubt and assume that they trusted their colleagues involved in negotiations to write legislative language that matched the public talking points: "It is clear the people who drafted this legislation had an agenda and the agenda was not to meet the expectations of the American people. "The agenda was to create a facade and appearance of enforcement, an appearance of toughness in some instances. "When you get into the meat of the provisions and get into the bill and study it, tucked away here and there are laws that eviscerate and eliminate the real effectiveness of those provisions. It was carefully done and deliberately done. This is a bill that should not become law."It is a bill that will come back to be an embarrassment to our Members who have supported it. I wish it were not so. I know how these things happen. You do not always have time to do everything you want to do. You try to do something you think is right, but ultimately in a bill as important as this one that has tremendous impact on the future of our country and our legal system and our commitment to the rule of law, we ought to get it right. We ought not to let this one slide by. It is not acceptable to say, let�s just pass something and we will send it to the House and maybe the House of Representatives will stand up and stop it and fix it. That is not acceptable for the great Senate of the United States."

Would it surprise you to know that more than 20 percent of children born in the United States are born to illegal aliens? As recently as 2002, that figure was 23 percent. Currently, all those children enjoy birthright citizenship and all its favors, despite the fact that there are legitimate questions about the constitutionality of such a right. ...But does the Constitution authorize birthright citizenship to illegal aliens? The relevant constitutional clause concerning birthright is found in the 14th Amendment, one of three �reconstruction amendments� proposed after the War Between the States. The 13th Amendment banned slavery, the 14th ensured Due Process and Equal Protection under the law for former slaves and their children, and the 15th banned race-based qualification for voting rights. Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (as proposed in 1866 and ratified in 1868) reads, �All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.� It explicitly referred to children born to U.S. citizens and those born to aliens lawfully in the U.S.

A Cry for Education Reform (Campus Report) In Kill Your Teacher, the cry of Rabbi Shifren is one direly needed to expose the world of
political-correctness and mediocrity of American inner-city public schools.
�Our schools used to be the envy of the world,� he remarked on American
education. �Now we live in a culture of permissiveness.� The �permissive�
culture at Dorsey High was highlighted by the students, parents, and board
members playing the �race card� quite often. Racial differences became an
excuse for poor effort and infighting among minority students at Dorsey High.
�The unspoken code,� Rabbi Shifren, a white Jew, writes in his book, �in both
Union and District is that Blacks and Hispanics are ALWAYS victims, never
aggressors. There�s just a white racist, somewhere, somehow, lurking around
the corner, manipulating academic failure and social irresponsibility.� The principal, a black Muslim woman, never lifted a finger to help his
cause.

Does the Hate Crimes Bill Hate Free Speech? (FamilySecurityMatters.org) H.R. 1592, the Hate Crimes Prevention Act, has some on the Right � particularly religious organizations � in an uproar. Opponents contend this bill begins to lay the groundwork for stifling constitutionally protected speech under the vague term �hate speech.� And, of course, Christian religious organizations would have the �hate speech� bulls-eye plastered across their chests � the Left routinely calls Christian�s opposition to homosexuality as �hate speech.�
