Supreme Court issues key rulings (OneNewsNow.com) The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday turned aside a key portion of the McCain-Feingold law on election campaign ads, upheld President Bush's faith-based initiative, and supported a school's right to impose some restrictions on student free speech.
Parsley issues wake-up call to a sleeping church (OneNewsNow.com) Pastor and author Rod Parsley says Christians in America must stop retreating into their sanctuaries and begin to engage the culture. The well-known pastor is calling on Christians to take part in what he says is a war with high stakes.

Click here to send a free FAX to your Senators. (Federation for American Immigration Reform - FAIR - fairus.org) Bush-Kennedy Bill on Floor Within Days! Urge Your Senators to Vote NO on CLOTURE! This week, the Grand Bargainers began laying the ground work for the revival of the Bush-Kennedy amnesty bill. To bring the bill back to the floor, Senator Ted Kennedy took S.1348, incorporated several changes and reintroduced it as S.1639. The new bill appears (text of the 418-page bill was just released Wednesday) to incorporate the amendments that already passed the Senate. For example, the Dorgan amendment sun-setting the Y-1 guest worker program and the Cornyn amendment on information sharing are still present. Leadership will then invoke Rule 14 (the same Senate rule used last time around) to bypass the committee process and bring the bill directly to the floor.
Colson: Christians must stop 'privatizing' faith (OneNewsNow.com) Chuck Colson says attacks in America against Christianity are increasing in scope, frequency, and intensity. Christians, he says, must be ready to defend a biblical worldview in an anti-Christian society.
Kentucky mother pens guide to Christian citizenship (OneNewsNow.com) A Kentucky mother who is also a nurse and educator has written a guide designed to help concerned Christians get involved in the culture war. McCamish says one of the reasons people do not get involved is that they do not know how -- and that is what the guide is all about, she points out. The guide can be downloaded through her church's website. POSSIBLE REASONS HOLDING US BACK A) We would like to help, but we dont know how (government class was long ago!) B) We havent thought our actions could make a big enough difference. C) We havent wanted to invest our time & energy into this direction. D) We havent seen a great need for it - America seems stable enough. E) We dont know what is currently being considered amongst leaders. F) We havent personally or directly suffered enough yet from poor governmental decisions. G) We are intimidated to interact with leaders in government.
California: Join the revolution against SB 777 by helping to generate a flood of phone calls and emails to Sacramento. Together, we must urge Governor Schwarzenegger to veto SB 777 like he did last year. If enough of us speak out, and God blesses our obedience, SB 777 and a similar bill, AB 394, can be defeated. Now is the time for all pro-family persons to come to the defense of the children. SB 777 has already passed the California State Senate and is scheduled for June 26 hearing in the Assembly Judiciary Committee.
Election 2008 - (Voting Resources)
Obama: Faith 'Hijacked' by Some Sen. Barack Obama told a church convention Saturday that some right-wing evangelical leaders have exploited religious beliefs. ..."Faith got hijacked, partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, all too eager to exploit what divides us," the Illinois senator said.
Obama Asked to Debate Role of Religion (ChristianNewswire.com) WASHINGTON, June 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), president of the National Clergy Council and chair of the Committee on Church and Society for the Evangelical Church Alliance, will hand deliver a letter to the U.S. Senate office of Barack Obama on Monday challenging the presidential candidate to a public debate on religion. Senator Obama this weekend used a national church conference to attack, "the so-called leaders of the Christian Right," who, he said, were "too eager to exploit what divides us at every opportunity. They've told Evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values, dislike their church." Mr. Schenck said: "With all due respect, I challenge the Senator to first identify who, exactly, he is talking about. Second, he must explain what he means about what divides us and how it jibes with Jesus' words, 'I did not come to bring peace but a sword.' Finally, I ask Senator Obama to cite specifically who, when, where and how these unnamed leaders have 'told Evangelical Christians Democrats disrespect their values, dislike their church.'" Mr. Schenck continued, "Contrary to the Senator's attack on religious conservatives, it is Mr. Obama who has utterly and crassly politicized religion in his bid for the presidency." In his letter, Mr. Schenck will ask Mr. Obama to debate him on the role of Christianity in the political arena.See also: Health Care Rationing, Government-Style (NationalCenter.org for Public Policy Research) Britain's government-run health care system has already banned some surgeries for women weighing over 168 pounds, and men weighing over 210. In that circumstance, the government has pretty much admitted the motive is saving money, prompting an indignant Scotsman newspaper editorialist, Dana Garavelli, to write: "Fat people pay taxes, too."
IN APPEALING TO RELIGIOUS VOTERS, DEMS ARE PEW-LESS (GrassTopsUSA.com Exclusive Commentary) By Don Feder 06-19-07 - Speaking in support of increased federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sermonized: "Science is a gift of God to all of us, and science has taken us to a place that is biblical in its power to cure... And that is embryonic stem cell research." ...Democrats are to traditional religion what Islam is to tolerance. ...If Democrats are down with the G-man, why is it the federal judges appointed by Democratic presidents insist that: 1) Public displays of the Ten Commandments violate the Establishment Clause, 2) Student-initiated prayer before football games is unconstitutional, 3) Jesus was invoked too often in prayers at opening sessions of the Indiana state legislature, 4) Municipal seals can't reference God, 5) A cross erected as a memorial to the nation's war dead on city property in San Diego had to go, and 6) Creches can only be displayed on public property in the presence of Santas and candy canes. Democrats may believe in God -- but have a humungo problem with the word of God. ...Hillary pledged "to make sure that nothing stands in the way of loving couples, gay or straight, who want to adopt children." "Therefore, a man leaves his father and his mother And cleaves to his husband, and they become one flesh," Book of Hillary, 2, 24. ...It's not that Democrats aren't religious -- rather that they practice a religion alien to both Christianity and Judaism. Its doctrine includes support for abortion on demand, hate crimes legislation, the Kyoto Treaty, driver's licenses for illegal aliens, multiculturalism and a socialism of property and values. Its priesthood is composed of feminists, environmentalists, gay-activists and radical secularists, presided over by its college of cardinals --Rosie O'Donnell, Bill Maher, Barbra Streisand and Al Franken. It calls for atonement for the sins of sexism, homophobia, the religious right, the gun lobby, pharmaceutical companies, big oil, Guantanamo, Halliburton and trans-fatty acids.
National Election Will Mean Nothing If We Will Not Repent (ChristianNewswire.com) "Instead of beating our proverbial political chests, we should be beating our breasts with sorrowful repentance. Have we not perverted the gospel by ignoring sin? We have allowed the slaughter of millions of children each year by abortifacient drugs and surgical abortion. We have been overcome with greed for material happiness, forgetting the kingdom of God, the gospel and loving our neighbor. We have allowed sex outside of marriage to become the norm and have forgotten that the Word of God is not optional; otherwise we will perish in our foolish sins. Political power will mean nothing if you are in direct conflict with God Himself, which will only put us on the fast track to judgment. We simply lack tears for our wickedness and rebellion to God." Phil Magnan, President of Biblical Family Advocates.

Behead All Those Who Insult Islam
Islams challenges to Europe, and how it can serve as a lesson for the United States. (Heritage.org) Europe is an incubator for extremism a British Member of the European Parliament declared today at a Heritage Foundation panel discussion about the rise of radical Islam in Britain and on the Continent. We have to start engaging in the battle of ideas in Islam. According to Dr. Syed Kamall, education is the key to reversing the trends towards radicalism among European Muslims. We must educate youth on how to live as a Muslim within the context of modern society, he explained.
07-26 Brief (PatriotPost.us) [E]very lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to facethat their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demandthe ultimatum. And what then? Ronald Reagan
Immigration & English (Immigration and English)
Immigration and Christian duty Judge Roy Moore (WND.com) When a person from any country enters our Country illegally, makes no application for citizenship, does not learn our language, does not care for our customs, and seeks only the benefits of living in America, they have not immigrated here at all. They are not "immigrants," but rather, "illegal aliens." ...Unfortunately, too many Christians have been deceived to think that our duty to love and care for illegal aliens means that we should ignore immigration laws and disregard our borders.
Easy to get rid of illegal aliens Joseph Farah (WND.com) If we take these simple and inexpensive steps, we won't need a Marshall Plan to get rid of 15 million to 20 million illegal aliens. We won't need concentration camps. We won't need to turn our country into a police state. Nature will take its course.
Activists swarm in response to Lott's immigration remarks (OneNewsNow.com) A grassroots immigration reform organization has mobilized activists in Mississippi to voice their disapproval of Senator Trent Lott's support of the controversial Senate bill that would give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.
Why Are U.S. Citizens Fenced Out . . . But Not Illegals? by Nina May (TheConservativeVoice.com) How many public buildings have you passed with fences, security cameras, gates, guards and any measure necessary to keep us out of our own public property. And why does our government feel a need to erect a fortress around our White House? It is because they know that in a country this big, there are bound to be a few loose nuts who want to do harm to institutions they either dont understand, dont believe in, or feel are dangerous to their own existence. Gee, sort of like suicide bombers who slip over our open borders?
Look to Milton - Open borders and the welfare state. By Robert Rector (NationalReview.com) A decade ago, Nobel prize-winning economist Milton Friedman admonished the Wall Street Journal for its ide fixe on open-border immigration policy. Its just obvious you cant have free immigration and a welfare state, he warned. This remark adds insight to the current debate over immigration in the U.S. Senate. To be fully understood, Friedmans comment should be viewed as applying not merely to means-tested welfare programs such as food stamps, Medicaid, and public housing, but to the entire redistributive transfer state. In the transfer state, government taxes the upper middle class and shifts some $1.5 trillion in economic resources to lower-income groups through a vast variety benefits and subsidies. Across the globe, this sort of economic redistribution is the largest, if not the predominant, function of government in advanced societies.
Education - (Education or Indoctrination? - Education Resources)
Can America Survive Evolutionary Humanis,
Sex,
Lies and Failure Rates (FRC.org) The Administration for Children and
Families (ACF), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, has released a report on how a number of "comprehensive" sexual
education (CSE) programs being promoted to our youth are heavy on sex and
light on education. The study, conducted by medical professionals, looked
closely at some of the most common CSE curricula currently in use in an
attempt to see if the content was truthful and truly comprehensive. A cursory
review of the study shows that the materials distributed by the
"comprehensive" programs mention abstinence only 321 times. In contrast the
materials mention usage of condoms 2,763 times - and only mention condom
failure rates a total of 23 times! The study showed these programs have very
little impact on increasing condom use among children, and even less impact in
delaying sexual activities - the latter being no surprise considering the
focus on condoms instead of abstaining. Today Dr. John Agwunobi, HHS Assistant
Secretary for Health, and Dan Schneider, HHS Assistant Secretary for ACF, are
announcing a campaign which is designed to encourage parents to talk to their
kids about sex, their values, and how delaying sexual activity until marriage
can contribute to their future happiness and success. This campaign should be
applauded for recognizing that any true education for children must come from
their parents and promote the family. Additional

New DVD
Counters Thought Crimes Laws (FRC.org) In George Orwell's classic novel
1984, government in the form of "Big Brother" aimed to control the
attitudes and perceptions of its citizens through thought control. Eerily,
fiction is slowly becoming a reality as those who speak out against homosexual
behavior are now having their liberties threatened because of their religious
beliefs and association. New "hate crime" laws threaten to curtail the
freedoms of speech and religion. As Dr. D. James Kennedy has warned, they have
the potential to "shut down churches and send pastors to prison for simply
reading a part of the Bible. "Hate Crimes Laws: Censoring the Church and
Silencing Christians" is a provocative, 40-minute DVD that looks at this
ominous legal tool of the homosexual lobby. Hosted by Tony Perkins, the
program features Dr. D. James Kennedy; Ake Green, a Swedish pastor arrested
for preaching against homosexuality; members of the Philadelphia 11 who were
charged with a hate crime while peacefully protesting; Christine Sneeringer,
an ex-lesbian; Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist
Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission; and Pastor Danny Nalliah
of Catch the Fire Ministries (who was prosecuted under hate crimes laws in
Australia). Order this exceptional video today. Order

Taxation without virtuous representation (Taxes & Economy)
07-26 Brief (PatriotPost.us) Liberals love to talk about this or that human right, such as a right to health care, food or housing. Thats a perverse usage of the term right. A right, such as a right to free speech, imposes no obligation on another, except that of non-interference. The so-called right to health care, food or housing, whether a person can afford it or not, is something entirely different. It does impose an obligation on another. If one person has a right to something he didnt produce, simultaneously and of necessity it means that some other person does not have right to something he did produce. Thats because, since theres no Santa Claus or Tooth Fairy, in order for government to give one American a dollar, it must, through intimidation, threats and coercion, confiscate that dollar from some other American. Id like to hear the moral argument for taking what belongs to one person to give to another person. Walter Williams

Americans Are Misinformed About Poverty, But Widely Involved in Helping the Poor (Barna.org) Americans Take Poverty SeriouslySurvey Shows Evangelicals Most Likely to Believe it's an Issue for the Church Not Government "Worthy of note is the divergent perspective of evangelicals. 'Barry' Caught
Cherry Picking - Tony Perkins (Family Research Council) Church leaders are
already looking over their shoulders
when they speak on moral issues, but Americans United for the Separation of
Church and State (AUSCS) is seeking to intimidate them even more. The
organization, which for years has bullied people of faith, is calling for an
investigation of Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin, who criticized Rudy Giuliani's
pro-abortion stance in a Rhode Island diocesan publication. "I would never
support a candidate who supports legalized abortion," Tobin wrote. Obviously,
AUSCS is applying its typical double standard on those who subscribe to
pro-life, pro-family views. Where was Barry Lynn when Rev. Jim Wallis hosted a
one-sided religious debate for Democratic presidential candidates on CNN
earlier this month? While AUSCS dissects Tobin's statement, they have ignored
a blatant affront to the separation of church and state on network television.
How many other opportunities have passed by to investigate legitimate offenses
while Lynn dabbles in Rhode Island? For more on the misinterpretation of the
First Amendment, read my op-ed, "America: A Theocracy?" Also, don't miss FRC's
