January 7, 2008 - I Don't Feel
'Called' Either
Editor's Note: Happy New Year. Please forgive the lapse in newsletters. Priority of family and technical challenges (new hardware, Vista, etc.). Hope everyone was able to celebrate the birth of Our Lord without too much secular interference from those who prefer to only profit from the birth of Jesus with their politically correct "holiday season." Newsletters may become less frequent as I look for employment. My resume has been posted on Monster for those who may be in the need of an IM&T Specialist or preferably a Christian conservative commentator.

Upfront - I Don't Feel 'Called,' Either by Sonja Dalton (MissionAmerica.com)
See if you notice a pattern here:
• When a courageous Christian school board member questioned the profane, sexually explicit, and violent content of books on her district’s required reading lists, a handful of her supporters contacted about sixty churches in the district asking for their support — but not one pastor or minister “felt called” to show up at the school board meeting and publicly oppose such morally corrupt material.
• When a Christian mother noticed that her son’s reading list included a blatantly anti-Christian and factually false assignment, she spoke with other Christian parents, but they just “didn’t feel called” to speak to the teacher or principal. Likewise, her church’s coordinator for high school Bible study “didn’t feel called” to alert other parents in the congregation or to counter the propaganda in group discussions with students.

America's Christian Heritage (America's Christian Heritage) & Church and State (Wall of Separation?)
What the Founders meant by religious liberty (Heritage.org) The Left often represents religious liberty as meaning the complete severing of religion from public life. But that’s not at all the vision the Founders had for the country, Heritage scholar Matthew Spalding argues in a new analysis. The Founders, he explains “never intended—indeed, roundly rejected—the idea of separating religion and politics.” Instead, they understood that religion and morality are “indispensable supports of good habits, the firmest props of the duties of citizens, and the great pillars of human happiness.” They did seek a certain separation of church and state, Spalding continues, in that “church doctrine would not determine the laws, and laws would not determine church doctrine.” But liberals also argue that times have changed, that religion no longer has a place in public life even if it did two centuries ago. Not so, says Spalding: “Rebuilding a post-welfare state society demands the return of religion and faith-based institutions to their central role in the nation's civic and public life. To attain this, Americans must abandon the interpretation, maintained by the Supreme Court, that religion is in conflict with freedom and that any 'endorsement' of religion creates an unconstitutional religious establishment.”

Massachusetts "Commission on Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Youth" outlines 2008 assault on public schools at meeting in Brockton (MassResistance.org) "It was frightening how organized these people are. I guess I was naïve. They're targeting K-12. They're trying to get them young. It sickens me. And it's all state funded." -Brockton resident who attended. ...The state-funded Massachusetts Commission on Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender ("GLBT") Youth met in Brockton and outlined their bold plans for pushing homosexuality and transgenderism further into Massachusetts schools in 2008. They described how they are intimidating local school officials who resist, holding training sessions for school-based homosexual activists, and organizing the GSA clubs to "normalize" these behaviors throughout the school. They held a special "closed" meeting earlier in the day to discuss this with student "leaders" from several local schools. ...They want a better distribution of state money for their programs. And they are planning a huge lobbying effort - with cooperation from the Governor's office - to get the Legislature to fund them a record amount of money for the upcoming fiscal year! At one point they discussed how they arrange for students whose parents don't approve of their homosexual behavior to leave home and live in a "gay-friendly" household.
A representative from the Mass. Dept. of Education gave a presentation of how they've been working with the Commission to give out the "grant" money.
American Education Fails Because It Isn’t Education Tom DeWeese (AmericanPolicy.org) ...Consequently, there are two specific categories in which the U.S. excels, compared to the rest of the world. First, the U.S. ranks second in the world in the amount we spend per student per year on education = $11,152. The U.S. is also a leader in having some of the smallest classroom numbers in the world. Yet the slide continues. American students grow more illiterate by the year. How can that be? We're doing everything the "experts" tell us to do. We're spending the money. We're building more and more schools. We're raising teachers' pay. Every American should understand that these three items: higher pay, smaller classrooms and more money for schools are the specific agenda of the National Education Association (NEA). The NEA is not a professional organization for teachers. It is a labor union and its sole job is to get more money into the education system, and more pay for its members. It also seeks to make work easier for its members - smaller classrooms. Clearly the NEA is not about education - it's about money and a political agenda.
NEW STUDY: Married Parents and School Success (NYTimes.com) A new study by the Educational Testing Service — which develops and administers more than 50 million standardized tests annually, including the SAT — concludes that an awful lot of those low scores can be explained by factors that have nothing to do with schools. The study, “The Family: America’s Smallest School,” suggests that a lot of the failure has to do with what takes place in the home, the level of poverty and government’s inadequate support for programs that could make a difference, like high-quality day care and paid maternity leave.
Same-sex Relationships / Transgenders / "Hate" Crimes?- ("Against Nature", Same-sex Marriage, "Hate Crimes", Selective Compliance, Hope for the Homosexual)
Romans 1: 26-32 (Power New Testament) Because of this God gave them over into vile passion of disgrace, and indeed their females exchanged the natural function for that contrary to nature, and likewise also the males who neglected the natural function with the females. They were inflamed in their lustful passion with one another, males performing the unseemly deed with males and receiving the reward which was necessary for their deceit in repayment for their sin. And since they did not see fit to have true knowledge of God, God gave them over into an unrighteous (reprobate) mind, to do the shameful things, since they were filled with every unrighteousness, wickedness, avarice, desire to injure. full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, evil habits, whisperers, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, braggart, contriving evil, refusing to obey parents, without understanding, covenant breaking, without natural affection without mercy: who, although they know the ordinances of God thoroughly, because they are practicing such things as these that are worth of death, not only are they doing them but they are applauding others who do them.
Nature's violators continue to confirm the Word of God....
Taxation without virtuous representation (Taxes & Economy)
Where Do Your Taxes Go? Find Out Online! (NTU.org) The federal government has announced the early launch of USASpending.org, an online portal to help you find out how your federal tax dollars are being spent. The website was mandated by last year's NTU-backed Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act. Better known as the Coburn-Obama bill, it ensures that information about all federal grant and contract spending above $25,000 is published online for ordinary citizens to review. This is a monumental achievement for transparency in government. You now have the ability to go online and look at nitty-gritty details about where more than $700 billion of our tax money is going. You can search by recipient name, by agency, even by location down to the city level. NTU was instrumental to getting that bill passed, including organizing a broad coalition letter with more than 70 organizations signing on, and now we urge you to log on to the website and put it to use!

Second Amendment (Second Amendment - NRA-ILA State Roundup)
Isolated Arizona Town Resorts to Second Amendment to Save Itself (CFIF.org) Our Founding Fathers insisted upon including the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights because they recognized the fundamental human right of self-defense, whether against government tyranny or individual criminal aggression. Those on the Left, however, conveniently deny the Second Amendment's terms while simultaneously concocting imaginary Constitutional "rights" -- access by foreign enemy combatants to domestic federal courts comes immediately to mind -- and dismiss the right to keep and bear arms as a mere anachronism.

Massachusetts Marriage Amendment vote-switchers attend "gay" gala (MAfamily.org) MassEquality held a gala celebration last week to celebrate their June victory over the Marriage Amendment. While many of the attendees were expected-Lt. Gov. Tim Murray, House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi, and Reps. Liz Malia, Carl Sciortino, and Byron Rushing-there were also a seven faces that seven months ago we would have been shocked at their presence. Seven of the eleven lawmakers who turned their backs on the pro-family community and blatantly lied to our movement's leaders sat there and were applauded: Reps. Geraldo Alicia, Paul Kujawski, Paul Loscocco, Angelo Puppolo, Richard Ross, Jim Vallee and Brian Wallace. The presence of these seven lawmakers should remind all of us of their actions of June 14 and the repercussions of those actions. Those seven men, along with the four others who reversed their position, single-handedly allowed the Supreme Judicial Court's decision legalizing same-sex marriage to stand for at least another few years; years that will be filled with propaganda from homosexual activists designed to continue the normalization of their dangerous lifestyle. Additionally, their actions speak volumes about how a powerful special interest group means more to legislators than their own constituents. Other noteworthy attendees of the gala were David White, Jr., President of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and Patrick Guerriero of the Gill Action Fund-Tim Gill's group that has directed millions of dollars towards anti-family candidates around the country. Tim Gill has been referred to as the George Soros of the homosexual movement.

Teacher Draws Supporters, Protesters over Anti-Christian Comments (ChristianPost.com) Hundreds of students and alumni rallied outside Capistrano Valley High School Wednesday morning to show support for the history teacher, who is being sued by one of his students for making offensive remarks about Christians and conservative Christianity in class. Around 200-300 protestors came about an hour before school started to defend James Corbett, who teaches Advanced Placement European history at the Mission Viejo school. Supporters lined the streets in front of the school chanting "support free speech" and holding signs that read, "He Made Us Think," "Keep Corbett" and "Who Would Jesus Sue?"
From MissionAmerica.com: Please pray for Chad Farnan and his parents; they are standing against a wall of bigotry disguised as tolerance. Also, they need contacts to be made to the school. They have requested the following: We could use support from the Christian community and would greatly appreciate everyone calling and e-mailing the district at superintendent@capousd.org - or call (949) 234-9210 or 234-9200 There is a school board meeting Jan 14 in San Jaun Capistrano, California. Please come and pray for Chad.
