"Those
people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants."
William Penn

Upfront - From a Republic to Tyranny? How progressive political correctness reduces God and the Bible and gives rise to secular humanism. Selective compliance of Scripture, the Laws of Nature, tolerance, diversity, discrimination, hate, and bigotry, have redefined how "Rights" are "entitled."
Take Action - (Alerts, Action, Petitions)
The Constitutional Convention on June 28, 1787, Thursday, was embroiled in a bitter debate over how each state was to be represented in the new government. The hostile feelings created by the smaller states being pitted against the larger states was so bitter that some delegates actually left the Convention. Benjamin Franklin, being the President (Governor) of Pennsylvania, hosted the rest of the 55 delegates attending the Convention. Being the senior member of the convention, at 81 years of age, he commanded the respect of all present, and, as recorded on James Madison's detailed records, he arose to address the Congress in this moment of crisis. A small part of what he said was: "We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that "except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it." (Psalm 127:1) I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest." (See Benjamin Franklin's entire speech at Did You Know?)
A quiz to ponder: If "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" as determined by the Bible no longer is the foundation of the American Way of Life, then what is the "new and improved" foundation upon which today's politicians base their agenda for "hope and change?"
News and commentary (1776-2008.)
Violating "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God - Being "politically correct" (using unrighteous deception while lacking moral virtue) ignores the foundation of how "unalienable Rights" are to be "entitled." (See the opening paragraphs of America's Founding Document.)
Jeremiah 9:5-9: And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, says the LORD. Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people? Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaks deceit: one speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart he lays his wait. Shall I not visit them for these things? says the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Obama Sees Presidency As 'Bully Pulpit' for Full 'LGBT Equality' By Susan Jones CNSNews.com - In an open letter posted on his presidential campaign Web site Thursday, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) expounds on the "promise of equality for all -- a promise that extends to our gay brothers and sisters." He said he'd use the "bully pulpit" of the presidency to press for a number of laws and policy changes backed by the homosexual community.
Obama: Sermon on Mount Justifies Same-Sex Unions Terence P. Jeffrey Editor in Chief (CNSNews.com) - Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) told a crowd at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, Sunday that he believes the Sermon on the Mount justifies his support for legal recognition of same-sex unions. He also told the crowd that his position in favor of legalized abortion does not make him "less Christian." "I don't think it [a same-sex union] should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state," said Obama. "If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans."
EarsToHear.net Commentary: Is Obama and his ilk redefining "obscurity" to fit their "political correctness?" When weighing in on Obama's "leadership" consider first what the "leaders" quoted below had to say.
How exactly does Obama justify what Jesus proclaimed in the Sermon on the Mount as support for legal recognition of same-sex unions?" If Romans 1 is an "obscure passage" to Obama, is the rest of Romans and all of the Epistles in the New Testament also obscure to him as well? Perhaps in an effort to be "politically correct," Obama feels justified using unrighteous deception by deselecting whatever Scriptures do not conform to his secular humanistic agenda? Perhaps, also Obama selectively stops at John 3:16 and ignores the passages Jesus said in the same breath at John 3:19-21? Another question for Obama: Scriptures aside (if one can do so), what did America's Founding Document define as the boundary for how "unalienable Rights" were to be "entitled," and are you not violating this basic American premise? (See Foundation.)
James Madison - The Author of the Constitution: "We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
Theodore Roosevelt: "Every thinking man, when he thinks, realizes that the teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally-I do not mean figuratively, but literally - impossible for us to figure what that loss would be if these teachings were removed. We would lose all the standards by which we now judge both public and private morals; all the standards towards which we, with more or less resolution, strive to raise ourselves."
William Penn: "Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants."
Calvin Coolidge: "We do not need more intellectual power, we need more moral power. We do not need more knowledge, we need more character. We do not need more government, we need more culture. We do not need more law, we need more religion. We do not need more of the things that are seen, we need more of the things that are unseen. If the foundation be firm, the foundation will stand."
Addressing the New York Historical Society, 1852, Daniel Webster stated: "If we and our posterity...live always in the fear of God and shall respect His Commandments...we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of our country.... But if we...neglect religious instruction and authority; violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity."
Noah Webster also provided the text book, History of the United States, used for over 60 years in public schools contained this statement: "The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scripture ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws." And "All the miseries and evils which men suffer from - vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war - proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."
John Adams (An Essay on Man's Lust for Power, 29 August 1763) Reference: Original Intent, Barton (338); original The Papers of John Adams, Taylor, ed., vol. 1 (83) "[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few."
John F. Kennedy: "The rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God."
Joseph Story: "Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them."
Charles Carroll, signer of the Declaration of Independence: "Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure...are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments."
President Harry S Truman stated in his address to the Attorney General's Conference, February 1950: "The fundamental basis of this nation's laws was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don't have a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except for the State."
General MacArthur: "History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster."
Abigail Adams wrote to Mercy Otis Warren, NOVEMBER 5, 1775: (AmericanMinute.com) "A patriot without religion in my estimation is as great a paradox as an honest Man without the fear of God. Is it possible that he whom no moral obligations bind, can have any real Good Will towards Men? Can he be a patriot who, by an openly vicious conduct, is undermining the very bonds of Society, corrupting the Morals of Youth, and by his bad example injuring the very Country he professes to patronize more than he can possibly compensate by intrepidity, generosity and honour? The Scriptures tell us 'righteousness exalteth a Nation.'"
On September 21, 1924, America's 30th President, Calvin Coolidge, addressed the Holy Name Society in Washington, D.C., saying: "The worst evil that could be inflicted upon the youth of the land would be to leave them without restraint and completely at the mercy of their own uncontrolled inclinations. Under such conditions education would be impossible, and all orderly development intellectually or morally would be hopeless." Coolidge continued: "The Declaration of Independence...claims...the ultimate source of authority by stating...they were...'appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of' their 'intentions.'... The foundations of our independence and our Government rests upon basic religious convictions. Back of the authority of our laws is the authority of the Supreme Judge of the World, to whom we still appeal." President Coolidge concluded: "It seems to me perfectly plain that the authority of law, the right to equality, liberty and property, under American institutions, have for their foundation reverence for God. If we could imagine that to be swept away, these institutions of our American government could not long survive."
The director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, stated: "The criminal is the product of spiritual starvation. Someone failed miserably to bring him to know God, love Him and serve Him." In the introduction to Edward L.R. Elson's book, America's Spiritual Recovery, 1954, J. Edgar Hoover wrote: "We can see all too clearly the devastating effects of Secularism on our Christian way of life. The period when it was smart to 'debunk' our traditions undermined...high standards of conduct. A rising emphasis on materialism caused a decline of 'God-centered' deeds and thoughts. The American home...ceased to be a school of moral and spiritual education. When spiritual guidance is at a low ebb, moral principles are in a state of deterioration. Secularism advances when men forget God."
Ben Franklin: "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
So as one considers the popularity of Obama, are those that do that ignorant of their own country's history and heritage? Are we living in the time when tyranny replaces God in America? Or will Christians awake from their complacency and apathy and become the virtuous citizens not unlike America's Founders and salvage and restore One Nation Under God?
Alexander Hamilton: "As riches increase and accumulate in few hands, as luxury prevails in society, virtue will be in a greater degree considered as only a graceful appendage of wealth, and the tendency of things will be to depart from the republican standard. This is the real disposition of human nature; it is what neither the honorable member nor myself can correct. It is a common misfortunate that awaits our State constitution, as well as all others."
John Adams: "It is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. and if this cannot be inspired into our people in a greater measure than they have it now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty. They will only exchange tyrants and tyrannies."
Calvin Coolidge: "No other theory is adequate to explain or comprehend the Declaration of Independence. It is the product of the spiritual insight of the people. We live in an age of science and of abounding accumulation of material things. These did not create our Declaration. Our Declaration created them. The things of the Spirit come first. Unless we cling to that, all our material prosperity, overwhelming though it may appear, will turn to a barren scepter in our grasp. ...
"Equality, liberty, popular sovereignty, the rights of man - these are not elements which we can see and touch. They are ideals. They have their source and their roots in the religious convictions. They belong to the unseen world. Unless the faith of the American people in these religious convictions is to endure, the principles of our Declaration will perish. We can not continue to enjoy the result if we neglect and abandon the cause." July 5, 1926 Philadelphia, PAWoodrow Wilson: "America was born a Christian nation. America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness, which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scriptures. Part of the destiny of Americans lies in their daily perusal of this great book of revelations. That if they would see America free and pure they will make their own spirits free and pure by this baptism of the Holy Spirit." From his famous address: "The Bible and Progress," May 7. 1911, Denver, Colorado.
America's foundation of Biblical moral virtue and courage defended righteousness in 1776 and has been replaced with apathy, complacency, and permissiveness. This has allowed selective secular humanism to progressively destroy the Republic with little resistance and has thus confirmed the warnings which have been ignored to the determent of the American Way of Life. Until and unless these warnings are virtuously acted upon, the outlook for America's future generations will be based solely on the politically correct "hope and change" of today's leading secular humanistic politicians. We can never say we were not warned.
Indoctrination - Without a Heritage every generation starts over
STILL AT RISK: What Students Don’t Know, Even Now A report from Common Core by Frederick M. Hess (PDF) - When asked fundamental questions about U.S. history and culture, they score a D and exhibit stunning knowledge gaps: • Nearly a quarter of those surveyed could not identify Adolf Hitler; 10 percent think he was a munitions manufacturer • Fewer than half can place the Civil War in the correct half-century • A third do not know that the Bill of Rights guarantees the freedom of speech and religion. ...When it comes to familiarity with major historical events and significant literary accomplishments, America’s 17-year-olds fare rather poorly. When asked relatively simple multiple-choice questions and graded on a generous scale, teens on the cusp of adulthood earned a D overall. Moreover, there is an unsurprising but unfortunate gap between those children born into homes headed by college educated parents and their peers. When it comes to familiarity with the base of knowledge that enables us to engage in conversations about policy and values and so much else, our 17-year-olds are only barely literate. Nearly a quarter of 17-year-olds did not know that George Washington commanded the American army in the Revolutionary War. Forty percent could not identify the proper half-century in which the First World War took place. One-fourth thought Christopher Columbus had landed in the New World after 1750. More than a quarter did not know that it is the Declaration of Independence that declares that all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” ...What should we take from these findings? For starters, it is essential that parents, policymakers, and educators examine what we are doing when it comes to the teaching of history and culture. We must ask whether popular reform currents are delivering the results (and incentives) we wish, and what that means for school reform going forward. Five specific recommendations deserve attention....

He that has ears to hear, let him hear what is happening with regards to Election 2008, America's Christian Heritage vs. "The Wall of Separation of Church and State," Violating "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God" in public and "higher" education, same-sex, Transgenders, pedophilia, pornography, abortion, cloning, embryonic stem cells, the "Mainstream" Media (Biased News and Entertainment), Immigration & English, America's sovereignty, The War on Terror (caliphate), Constitutional violations (beginning with undermining the First and Second Amendments), ignorance and apathy towards our Republic, Electoral college, etc. All promoting a cradle-to-grave-nanny-state of socialism with freedom restrictions mandated by a "politically correct" government replacing the liberty that comes from God. Learn how understanding the Kingdom of God, discovering the "joy that no man can take away" can reverse the trend help restore moral virtue.
