- Dr. King's 'Moral Law'

Indoctrination - Without a Heritage every generation starts over

Congressmen Waffle on Dr. King's 'Moral Law' View In his famous 1963 "Letter from Birmingham Jail," the late Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., told fellow pastors and the world that valid laws are those that reflect God's law or moral code, and unjust laws, which do not reflect God's law, should not be obeyed. "I would agree with St. Augustine that an 'unjust law is no law at all,'" wrote King. "Now what is the difference between the two? A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law." On the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King, Cybercast News Service asked several members of Congress if they agreed with his view that man's laws must comport with the laws of God. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, said the idea King expressed was "the fundamental notion of civil disobedience." "Any individual has to make their judgment about those things - and suffer consequences according to the civil laws of the community, too," said Kerry. "That's why it's called civil disobedience." (Listen to Audio) - Kerry said he thought King's letter was "a remarkably eloquent and important document." But when asked whether there is a moral basis for not obeying laws that don't comport with God's law, Kerry suggested that morality is relative. "It doesn't make it legitimate," Kerry said, "but there can be a moral basis. Individuals have different determinations of what's moral and what isn't." Kerry agreed that some people would say that laws creating same-sex marriage don't reflect God's law, are immoral and, therefore, unjust. "Some would - and they have a right to make their decision," said Kerry. "Everybody has a right to make their decision about all laws. Our Founding Fathers essentially did that, too."

EarsToHear.net commentary: As a deeply disturbed constituent of Senator's Kennedy and Kerry, and Representative John Olver, I have repeatedly asked all three to enlighten me as to their foundation, their basis for determining the boundaries of how civil, "unalienable Rights" are to be "entitled." What new and improved wisdom do they proclaim which supersedes that of  America's Founding Document, where the boundaries for how "Rights" are to be "entitled" are if they do not violate "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." I have yet to receive a response that defines their secular humanistic liberal foundation or basis of their "politically correct" definition of  morality. If not that of the Holy Scriptures, from which America's founders based our founding Document, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, regardless, of all the false claims otherwise based upon facts, writings, and warnings of our founders.

ADHD and the Drugging of America’s Children Paul Tautges - Suppose for a moment that some prophet had come out of the wilderness in 1958 and predicted that within a generation one-fifth of the children enrolled in our schools would be doped into docility. The prophet would, of course, have been laughed back to his cave. Yet the spiritual nature of our disease is such that when these things do come to pass, precisely because they have come to pass, it is impossible to see them. Before they happen we cannot see them because they have not yet happened. After they happen, we cannot see them because we let them happen, and seeing would now require repentance. [1]

The rise of ADD and the dangers of Ritalin

How did this sad state come to be? How did millions of children so quickly get labeled with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and drugged into compliance? Christian educator, Douglas Wilson, explains some of the history which has brought us to this pathetic state.

In the nineteenth century, our nation established a socialistic system of education, telling parents that they did not have to exercise the same degree of responsibility for their children that they used to. Lo, and behold, over time parents began to relinquish more and more of their parental duties, assuming ‘they’ out there somewhere would pick up the slack. Children became increasingly unloved, uncared for, and undisciplined. As the resultant lack of self-control became more evident in schoolchildren, people began to look for alternative means of keeping order. One of the means our modern technocratic society discovered was the ability to hit kids on the head with a chemical rock. As a whole, the government school system has said yes to drugs, and students by the thousands found themselves on Ritalin, Prozac, Luvox, Paxil, or other related drugs. In many government school systems, such drugs are actively promoted by the administration as a means of keeping order in the classroom…

Despite decades of official warnings and supporting research confirming the similarities of methylphenidate (Ritalin) and cocaine, tens of millions of children in the United States have been prescribed this psychotropic drug for a widely accepted yet scientifically unproved mental condition: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Now recently concluded study at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) not only confirms the similarities of cocaine and Ritalin, but finds that Ritalin is more potent than cocaine in its effect on the dopamine system, which many doctors believe is one of the areas of the brain most affected by drugs such as Ritalin and cocaine.[2]

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Georgia has made progress in giving parents real choice over their children’s education. The General Assembly gave final approval to a ground-breaking school choice bill that would eventually provide scholarships for children to leave public schools for private institutions.

An Embarrassment of Riches (FRC.org) While most companies have started to feel the squeeze of our sagging economy, business has never been better for Planned Parenthood. Although the organization couldn't be more controversial, its profits have never been higher, according to the group's just-released 2006-07 annual report. For the first time in history, Planned Parenthood has surpassed the $1 billion mark, a milestone made possible by the government's hefty $336 million investment. Despite the rash of bad publicity, Planned Parenthood was entrusted with a $31.4 million raise in taxpayer funds, a 10.8 percent increase in the "nonprofit's" government revenue. Adding to the financial windfall, Planned Parenthood's clinics performed an extra 24,707 abortions in 2006, six times the number of casualties from the entire Iraq war. All together, its abortion mills put 289,650 unborn babies to death in the year 2006 alone. And lets not forget that Planned Parenthood also makes a tidy sum sowing its wild oats in the next generation of abortion customers. The group sold more than 1,400,000 "emergency" contraception kits, in many instances making transactions without as much as a medical exam. While the public is increasingly skeptical of Planned Parenthoods operation, it has yet to put a dent in the organizations bottom line. For that, we need your help. The majority of Americans wouldn't invest in a company that conspires in sexual crimes against children, accepts racially-motivated donations, promotes pornography to kids, devotes millions to the election of pro-abortion leaders, and uses unsanitary equipment to treat patients. Unfortunately, through Title X and Medicaid, the federal government is forcing taxpayers to do just that. On our website, www.frc.org, FRC is circulating a petition to the White House, urging President Bush to approve new Title X guidelines that would ensure no federal money goes to refer women for abortions. In addition, the federally subsidized sharing of abortion facilities and birth control clinics must end. If "choice" is the mantra du jour, then taxpayers deserve one in how their money is spent. Is Planned Parenthood a Wise Investment?

Ask Congress to Permanently Repeal the Estate Tax! Since its inception in 1916, the estate tax, also known as the inheritance tax or the death tax, has made it very difficult for a large number of Americans to reach certain thresholds of wealth without having to limit the size of their companies, estates, or farms, in order to avoid the tax. In many cases, Americans have had to sell their hard-earned assets, in order to pay the onerous tax, which has sometimes seized more than half of one's assets at the time of death.

Send an e-mail message to your Members of Congress today urging them to stop unfair Medicare-means-testing! RetireSafe is mobilizing one million Seniors to send Congress and everyone running for office in the all-important 2008 elections a message, loud and clear: We refuse to surrender one penny of what we have earned, and is rightfully ours to receive, in full Social Security and Medicare benefits. Some seniors are already being forced to pay more for their Medicare benefits.

Please urge your congressman to sign Discharge Petition No. 110-3 for H.R. 2905, the Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2007. H.R. 2905, The Broadcaster Freedom Act of 2007, introduced June 28, 2007 by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), would prohibit the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) from reinstating the so-called Fairness Doctrine, a former FCC policy that the agency revoked in 1987. The policy required broadcasters to air contrasting viewpoints about controversial issues of public importance (as decided by FCC bureaucrats) or risk losing their license. H.R. 2905 has been held up in the committee stage since its introduction. On October 17, 2007 Rep. Pence filed Discharge Petition No. 110-3 to force the release of H.R. 2905 from committee and allow an up or down vote by the House. To be successful a discharge petition requires the signatures of a majority of House members (218). The petition needs two dozen more signers.  Reinstatement of The Fairness Doctrine would repress the free speech of broadcasters and thus violate the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. We support legislation such as H.R. 2905 that would prevent the Fairness Doctrine policy from returning.

Discover who is really to blame for the oil crisis and what the U.S. can do to fight back. Soaring oil prices have Americans cringing at the pump and journalists pointing the finger of blame at big oil companies. But is big oil really to blame? Media Research Center's Business and Media Institute just published a new study entitled "Crude Coverage," that identifies the true culprit and faults the liberal media for missing the mark. ...None of the stories connected OPEC with Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Chavez, both of whom have previously threatened to use oil as a “weapon” against the United States. When OPEC leaders met in Venezuela in 2006, Chavez tried to get his colleagues to cut production. He failed, though, as members decided to keep production at “maximum” levels. ...Journalists have a history of ignoring how little control oil companies have over the price of oil or gasoline. Nor do they focus much on how oil companies invest their profits in research and development, Hofmeister said in a November 2007 interview on CNN.
