Upfront - "The History and Future of the Present Revival - Tighten Your Seatbelts. We Are in For the Ride of Our Lives!" by Rick Joyner - Last Sunday morning in one of our services, I polled those attending by asking the following questions:

1. How many had come to the Lord through a revival?
2. How many had come to the Lord through a crusade or evangelistic campaign?
3. How many had come to the Lord through Christian television?
4. How many had come to the Lord through the witness of a friend or relative?

There were roughly a thousand people in that service. The following are the approximate results to these questions:

1. 3 people
2. 7 – 8 people
3. 4 – 5 people
4. All the rest

I have now asked these questions to many Christian audiences, churches, and conferences, and the results have always been basically the same in a category.

"Senator John McCain could never convince me to vote for him. Only Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can cause me to vote for McCain." - Thomas Sowell Random Thoughts

Why the Left can’t get it Right By Mark Alexander - Liberals advocate diversity, unless your views don’t comport with their own doctrines of moral relativism. They want to preserve nature and the natural order but advocate homosexual “marriage.” They oppose the death penalty for the most heinous of criminal sociopaths, but they support the execution of unborn children in their mothers’ wombs. They believed that one nut who bombs an abortion clinic deserves far more law-enforcement attention than jihadi cells planning the 9/11 attacks. They called 9/11 victims “Little Eichmanns” while calling their murderers “oppressed.” They “support our troops” while calling for retreat and surrender. Liberals call for “change” but are firmly committed to the status quo. They oppose nuclear power production while complaining about “global warming.” They call for racial, ethnic and religious harmony, but they rally constituencies by fomenting division and hate. They deride moral clarity because they can’t survive its scrutiny.

Cal Thomas - “Before government hijacked charity in the form of the New Deal and Great Society, compassion and charity began at home. People were to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit prisoners, care for widows and orphans and love their enemies. Those were biblical commands to individuals, not government. Democrat politicians see things differently. Apparently believing there aren’t enough caring people, they want compassion to originate in Washington, depriving it of its true meaning. They define compassion as big and ever-growing government and a guaranteed check forever with no expectation—or requirement—the recipient will ever better his or her circumstances.”

Mass. chaos over healthcare In a continuing ode to budgetary ineptitude, Massachusetts’ promises of controlled program costs for its mandatory healthcare plan have flat-lined. This misguided scheme has managed to cover only about half of the uninsured persons for whom it was intended, and it is costing far more per year than predicted. Instead of trying to rein in the runaway costs of the program by cutting overly generous benefits, the governor, in typical Democrat fashion, instead is proposing to impose additional taxes to make up for cost overruns. Governor Duval Patrick’s proposal to raise $100 million would confiscate about a third of that amount by requiring employers with more than 10 employees to pay at least a third of employee premiums within 90 days of hiring. Additionally, he would demand that at least a quarter of the employees be enrolled in an employer-sponsored insurance plan. As with previous attempts to impose arbitrary taxation schemes to fund a government-conceived universal health plan, the Massachusetts legislature will discover these tax ideas are forbidden by the federal government’s Employee Retirement Income Security Act. It’s time politicians start looking to balance budgets by cutting costs and correcting their mistakes, rather than passing them on to taxpayers.

D.C. Disses Supremes on Gun Law It shouldn’t have come as any surprise that the District of Columbia decided that it can and will continue to all but completely disarm its law-abiding citizens -- not even when it’s less than three weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled otherwise. After all, this is the same D.C. that was home to the most restrictive firearms laws in the country -- until the Court struck them down. The same D.C. that banned its law-abiding citizens from possessing any handgun. The same D.C. that forced its law-abiding citizens to keep the few firearms they could possess both unloaded and disassembled or locked at all times. In other words, the same D.C. that has disarmed its law-abiding citizens for decades despite achieving the title of “murder capital of the United States” and other dangerously dubious distinctions.

The Two Reasons We Must Stop Clinton And Obama Gun rights advocates considering skipping this November's presidential election should keep two things in mind--the Supreme Court and the United Nations.

Sen. Harry Reid Claims Judges Don’t Matter to Americans by Devon Williams, associate editor - Senate majority leader says nominees are 'not a big issue.' On the Senate floor today, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., claimed the issue of judicial nominees doesn’t matter to Americans. “I’m telling you, Madam President, I can't ever remember going home and somebody saying, ‘Could you guys (confirm) some more judges? We need to take care of this judges problem.’ ” Reid said. “Frankly, judge(s) is not a big issue (compared) to all of the other problems we're facing in America.”

Iranian Women Declare War Against the Mullahs (Family Security Matters) - ...Iranian women had total equal rights and had fought a valiant battle to once again become partners of their men ... But it did not last long. By 1971, Iranian women had total equal rights and had fought a valiant battle to once again become partners of their men in running the affairs of the country. But it did not last long. Although Khomeini had, in an interview, announced to the Guardian and other media that women's rights will not change under his Islamic government, one of his first acts was repealing the laws that guaranteed the women's rights, re-imposing the Sharia laws. ...Since the establishment of the Islamic government in Iran in 1979, women have counted as one-half of a man. They do not get the custody of their children. They do not have the choice in their clothing, residence, leaving the house, working, education or traveling without the permission of their husband. The age at which girls are allowed to marry is nine. Men can divorce the women at any time they wish and can marry several wives in addition to them. Girls inherit one-half of that which boys do and so on. State-owned press reports that in Tehran, 120 women have been hung in public in the first five months of the Iranian year; that suicide among the women of Iran has been the highest in world history. ...A group of women attempted to establish a political party. They have been in the 209 - solitary - section of the dreaded Evin prison for the last nine months. Last year another group of women attempted to collect one million signatures against the unjust Mullah laws. Hundreds of women joined them nationwide in less than 48 hours to collect signatures, but they were all arrested, beaten and imprisoned. One year later on June 12th, 2008, nine more women were arrested from the crowd that had gathered in the town square commemorating the last year's arrests.

Pentecostal minister plays key role in Democrat election strategy The Pentecostal minister organizing the Democrat's national convention defends the party's pro-abortion stance and is considering whether to allow atheists to be part of the convention's interfaith service.

"Politically Correct" - (Politically Correct) Examples and results of using unrighteous deception which lack Biblical Moral Virtue. Remove the Light (Jesus) and darkness (politically correct secular humanism) inevitably ensues.

First corrupt their young minds, then subject their health to the "natural" results of that corruption (as politicians, school administrators, judges, and worse, parents appease because of "political correctness.")

Dems showing true colors on Proposition 8? The Democratic National Committee is actively working to foil the campaign to ban same-sex "marriage" in California.

Definition of 'family' targeted as well A school psychologist is suing her employer's insurance company in New York claiming that her homosexual partner should receive spousal benefits because the two were "married" in Canada.

UNpatriotic: United Nations Considers Religious Gag Order Ezra Levant, the international publisher at the center of a controversy over an anti-Mohammed cartoon, made an important stop on Capitol Hill last Friday, along with others who are warning Americans about the gathering storm over free speech rights. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is now pushing the U.N. to pass anti-defamation laws that would ultimately be a "declaration of war against... Christianity." Congressional leaders are trying to determine what, if anything, they can do about it. Under the resolution before the U.N., freedom of expression "would be subject to limitations." While it has not yet passed, panelists said that it is already having a "chilling effect." Not only does the OIC hope to protect outrageous "blasphemy laws" in countries like Pakistan, but it also aims to empower politically correct courts and tribunals to criminalize speaking out against Islam. The criterion on which these offenses would be judged is nothing more than hurt feelings. FRC was present at the hearing and we will continue to work with Congress to oppose these assaults on our first freedoms. Additional Resources - Julia Duin: Religious speech debated

Biblical discipline -- or child abuse? An Idaho mother is facing child abuse charges, even though evidence clearly contradicts the accusations. An Idaho mother is facing child abuse charges, even though evidence clearly contradicts the accusations. Melissa Farrell and her children, including a 21-month-old restless girl, were observers at a 4th of July parade in Couer d'Alene. Farrell tells local television station KREM she had to restrain the toddler from running into the street filled with trucks and parade floats. "You know, I tried different positions to try and keep her calm and keep her from running away, and she was insisting that she was to go across the street, and she was not staying still," Farrell explains. Bryan Fischer of the Idaho Values Alliance (IVA) picks up the story. "She gave her a couple of swats on her bottom and before she knew what had happened, she was surrounded by four police officers who were accusing her of child abuse and threatening her that the state was going to take her children away from her," Fischer contends.

Senior Army leaders feel muzzled about faith An evangelical chaplain believes senior leaders in the U.S. Army feel they can't speak out freely about their faith because it might have an impact on their careers.

Indoctrination or Education? - (Education?) The good, the bad, and the ugly...Without a Heritage every generation starts over  Will our descendants know moral virtue? The primary responsibility of education DOES NOT belong to schools.  (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)

"The philosophy of the schoolhouse in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next." Abraham Lincoln

"Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, and then lost it, have never known it again." Ronald Reagan

"A trained intelligence can do much, but there is no substitute for morality, character and religious conviction."  President Calvin Coolidge

"Knowledge unenlightened by the truth of God is dark knowledge. We may have a B.S., an M.S., and a Ph.D., but without the Lord all we have is dark information. It may help navigate us in the world of darkness, but by itself will never lead us to the truth. Apart from the revelation of the Spirit of God, none of us could ever find our way into the light. Darkly educated people are like those whom Paul described to his young protégé', Timothy, as 'always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.'" (2 Timothy 3:7) Rediscovering the Kingdom by Myles Munroe
