Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness... (Matthew 6)- (Not self, not politics, not money, not pride, ...)

Recognizing The spirit of Antichrist Terry Somerville - We are to test the spirits, John says, because there are many false prophets. The spirit of Antichrist will especially try to infiltrate prophetic ministry. While Paul tells us to discern the message of prophets (1 Cor.15:14) ; and Peter tells us to recognize the lifestyle of false prophets (2 Peter 2) John tells us to test the spirits" of the prophets. (1 John 4)

It is possible for people who live right, to speak, feel and do things that seem right, but the spirit be wrong. The spirit of God puts Jesus at the focal center. The spirit of Antichrist will often simply not acknowledge Jesus and elevate something else instead, a church, a ministry, a person.

"Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist..." ( 1 John 2:22)

"Such a one is the deceiver and the Antichrist" (2 John 7)

Another characteristic of the spirit of Antichrist is deception. Under its influence people become deceived and spread lies believing them to be the truth. We must beware of this angel of light. (2 Cor. 11:14) This spirit can deceive Christians. Because of this spirit believers will oppose true leadership with lying accusations. The character of the accuser is frequently angry, divisive, and refuses to handle the issue in a biblical manner. Even when confronted with absolute evidence to the contrary, the deceived person will maintain the accusation and believe the deception. The Spirit of God never inspires this behavior, and the church we must learn to never give it a place.

On the other hand, when the spirit of Antichrist is given a place by leadership certain features emerge.

"For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and great miracles to deceive even the elect..." (Matt. 24:24)

... "They are of the world, therefore what they say is of the world and the world listens to them." ( 1John 4:5)

The spirit of Antichrist will try to shift the focus of the church in order to be relevant, attracting people by giving itself to the most recent trends. Instead of asking "What does Jesus want?" The concern becomes "What do the people want?" When the spirit of Antichrist invades church leadership, they fear offending the unspiritual and begin to resist the plans of the Holy Spirits. The "high calling of Christ" is voted down, the "lowest common denominator" is voted up.

"Friendship with the world is enmity with God" (James 4:4)

A Time for All Things - Monday marks 100 days until the November 4th election. During these next 100 days, FRC will be covering a lot territory as we assist in the effort to uphold traditional marriage and educate voters on the key issues of this election. At the same time we will continue our work on Capitol Hill, in the media, and with pastors and churches across the nation. But as we enter this period, the realization of the gravity of our decisions and actions grows ever clearer. The nation is at war. There are both external and internal threats to our physical security, and there are clear and present dangers facing our faith, our families, and even our freedoms.

Every election is important because elections, as we have seen, have consequences. This election is no exception. With this realization, the FRC staff will be observing a day of prayer and fasting this coming Monday, July 28th. Our offices in Washington and Michigan will be closed as we spiritually prepare for what lies ahead. Our offices will reopen Tuesday morning and the Update will resume on Tuesday as well. I invite you to join us.

Prayer Points: 1. The efforts in Arizona, California and Florida to protect the institution of marriage 2. Clear revelation for the direction that FRC should take regarding the challenges we are facing 3. The right personnel to join FRC to fill key position that are presently open 4. That the Church in America would begin to experience revival 5. For the truth to be known about the records and positions of the candidates on key issues

Liberty Counsel's petition to stop anti-faith "hate speech" and "hate crimes' laws. As homosexual activists push for more rights, the result will be the attempt to criminalize beliefs that oppose their lifestyle -- especially Christian beliefs. For example, Colorado recently passed a law (SB 200) outlawing communication that “discriminates” based on “sexual orientation” -- in essence outlawing the Bible in that state! Petition To Battle Radical Anti-Faith Laws State-By-State Liberty Counsel is launching a nationwide legal and citizen action campaign to fight these anti-faith laws state-by-state. We are committed to taking legal action any time homosexual activists seek to implement their “hate speech” agenda. But we need your help to fight this battle both nationally and in your state.

STOP THE DANGEROUS AND INVASIVE MOTHERS ACT - Reid Spikes Omnibus Package with Psychotropic 'MOTHERS Act' - Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D – NV) has slipped a controversial bill called The MOTHERS Act into an omnibus package called "Advancing America's Priorities Act" (S. 3297) which is scheduled for a vote July 26. The MOTHERS Act, a bill to screen and treat pregnant and new mothers across the U.S. at risk for mental disorders, has stalled in the Senate HELP committee for months. The abortion rights groups NARAL Pro- Choice America, The Guttmacher Institute, and Planned Parenthood publicly support The MOTHERS Act. Reid will move to invoke cloture and pass the $11.3 billion omnibus bill this Saturday without debate. Senator Tom Coburn, M.D. (R – OK) criticized Reid's plan, stating, "What the staff members are saying is we want to bring a bill, but we don't want to debate it. We don't want to vote on it. We don't want to have it amended. We don't want the American people to know what we would rather do in secret."

Mass. Senate repeals “1913 Law” to allow out-of-state gays to “marry” in MA using voice vote. Members too cowardly to go on record. Complete cave-in to homosexual lobby by elected body. - Watch for yourself the entire "debate" and "vote" 22 minutes - (21.9 minutes of phony debate with a few seconds of "vote" at the end.) It had to be seen to be believed .

Not a single member of the 40-member Senate made a motion for a roll-call vote – or  even protested the action. In fact, none of them even spoke against the bill during the debate period, although several spoke for it.  It was worse than shameful. The cherished concepts of a representative democracy were nowhere to be seen or heard.  It also shows how completely out of touch with reality our politicians are.

This is not trivial. Repealing the “1913 law” essentially destabilizes marriage laws both in Massachusetts and around the county. The current law prohibits out-of-state couples from marrying in Massachusetts if that marriage would be illegal in their home state. Repealing it has been a top priority of the homosexual lobby in order to purposefuly spread legal havoc in other states over homosexual "marriage". (Here’s the language of the repeal bill – S800.)

As we’ve reported, national gay groups have poured in money for this, and they’ve hired “the best lobbyists in the State House” to get it done. ...For the truth on the scare tactics heard in this video, see our commentary...

"Senator John McCain could never convince me to vote for him. Only Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can cause me to vote for McCain." - Thomas Sowell Random Thoughts

Obama: In the World and of It Hearts are still thumping from Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) rock tour through Europe, but back home the trip has prompted more than a few uneasy Americans to wonder what, exactly, the Illinois Senator is running for. The man campaigning for President appears to be more consumed with becoming world sovereign than leader of the United States. These days, it's easy to become confused about Obama's agenda as nations trip over themselves to throw out a welcome mat for the unconventional nominee-to-be.

Using his uncanny ability to touch hearts without ever touching on policy, Obama has perfectly choreographed the trip through Europe's progressive hotspots, where his biggest selling point seems to be his ability to distance himself from the nation he's vying to lead. In his speech yesterday, the man whose campaign is already calling him president spent more time apologizing for America than he did representing it. With the crowd cheering and cameras flashing, Obama talked of "hope" and "change." He spoke of disarming America of nuclear weapons and addressing climate change. He dreamed of a nation "where every language is spoken," and every culture leaves "its imprint"--an America that puts global citizenship ahead of its moral identity.

As David Brooks said in today's New York Times, "When John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan went to Berlin, their rhetoric soared, but their optimism was grounded in the reality of politics, conflict, and hard choices... Reagan didn't call for a kumbaya moment... Obama has benefited from a week of good images. But substantively, optimism without reality isn't eloquence. It's just Disney." The problem, of course, is that a lot of Americans live in a Disney world.

Focus on FOCA A year ago this week, Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.) told a Planned Parenthood audience that the first thing he would do as President is sign into law the mislabeled Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). As a new Insight paper from Vice President of Government Affairs Tom McClusky shows, if FOCA were to become law it would overturn hundreds of state laws that have put limits on abortion. Planned Parenthood, NARAL and other pro-abortion groups agree with Tom's assessment.

The ACLU proclaims, "This [FOCA] bill prohibits such restrictions as parental notification and consent, as well as the requirement that all abortions be performed in a hospital, spousal consent, waiting periods ..." Recent polls show that most Americans agree there should be more restrictions on abortion and that tax dollars should not go to the life-ending procedure. However, the passage of FOCA would guarantee that more taxpayer dollars pay for abortions. Its sponsors, including Senators Obama, Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), argue that they want to make abortion rarer. However, when FOCA-like legislation was passed in Maryland that state saw its abortion rate skyrocket, just as the national abortion rate was dropping. Passage of FOCA would be a big payoff to the abortion industry at the deadly cost of citizens' rights. A Few More Reasons To Oppose Obama by Burt Prelutsky - Because there is so much about Barack Obama that I find personally offensive -- things ranging from his friends and religious mentors to his obvious arrogance and his wife -- I have rarely brought up his politics. Partly that’s because his support of leftist policies aren’t all that much different from Hillary Clinton’s or any other liberal in the U.S. Senate, and partly because I tend to think that when electing a president, who must not only serve as head of the executive branch of the federal government but as a living symbol of the country, character and values trumps his position on a handful of current issues. .

..He insists that he was prescient in opposing the invasion of Iraq, but has never said how he would have dealt with Saddam Hussein’s brutal regime. Embargos, perhaps? We all saw how well those worked. But I suppose the oil-for-food scandal and Hussein’s bribing France, Germany, Russia and certain mucky mucks at the U.N. with sweetheart oil deals somehow slipped his mind, just as Jeremiah Wright’s racist screeds did.

Barack on Iraq: January 2007—“And until we acknowledge that reality, uh, we can send 15,000 more troops; 20,000 more troops; 30,000 more troops. Uh, I don’t know any, uh, expert on the region or any military officer that I’ve spoken to, uh, privately that believes that that is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground.”

July 2007—“Here’s what we know. The surge has not worked. And they said today, ‘Well, even in September, we’re going to need more time.’ So we’re going to kick this can all the way down to the next president, under the president’s plan... My assessment is that the surge has not worked and we will not see a different report eight weeks from now.”

September 2007—“After putting an additional 30,000 troops in... we have gone from a horrendous situation of violence in Iraq to the same intolerable levels of violence that we had back in June of 2006. So, essentially, after all this we’re back where we were 15 months ago... It is a course that will not succeed.”

January 2008—“I had no doubt, and I said when I opposed the surge, that given how wonderfully our troops perform, if we place 30,000 more troops in there, then we would see an improvement in the security situation and we would see a reduction in the violence.”

Now: “What I said was even at the time of the debate of the surge, was if you put 30,000 troops in, of course it’s going to have an impact. There’s no doubt about that.”

Undecided by Cal Thomas - In the case of the Iraq War, Sen. Barack Obama has said that even though the military surge ordered by President Bush and backed by Sen. John McCain has worked, he still opposes it. Would he have preferred all-out defeat or an endless quagmire, which was where things appeared to be heading before the surge?

Top Dem Meets Regularly with Code Pink (CNSNews.com) – Code Pink, an anti-war group known for its frequent and sometimes raucous protests on Capitol Hill, meets regularly with Sen. Glenn Beck rips Obama's speech - Since 99% of the mainstream media won't do it, Glenn had to be one of the few who will point out the negatives of the Obama speech. Yes, there were negatives---unless you want to live in a socialist utopia one world government land, then probably it was pretty positive for you. Otherwise, it was a speech full of mostly empty 'Berlin rocks!' type stuff, and socialist talking points. Here is Glenn ripping through some of the speech.

The Numbers Are In, Again – The Rich Pay More Than Their “Fair Share” - Latest IRS Data Shows that Wealthier Americans’ Portion of Taxes Actually Exceeds Their Portion of Income - In their never-ending campaign to increase taxes, those on the left endlessly allege that wealthier Americans don’t pay their “fair share” in taxes. There’s only one problem: the exact opposite is true.

A Cash Transaction by Bill O'Reilly - If Sen. Obama becomes President Obama, my taxes will go up, way up. But I know neither Argentina nor anyone else will cry for me, because I am the rich guy Al Gore warned you about, the one who got all those tax cuts from the evil Bush administration. Yes, I am part of the 1 percent of Americans that paid an astounding 40 percent of all federal income tax in 2006. According to recently released IRS figures, about 50 percent of my fellow Americans paid no federal income tax at all that year. My fellow 1-percenters and I covered for them. But for some it is still not enough. Obama believes in "income redistribution," a concept practiced by Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest. Like Robin, Obama wants to take from the rich and give to the not so rich. He wants to raise taxes big time on those making $250,000 or more.

PELOSI ENERGY PLAN - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her leftist allies who control Congress do not want any domestic drilling for oil. They also refuse to approve nuclear power plants and coal shale mining. The have forbidden American companies to obtain oil from the vast reserves of the Arctic. No drilling in the Alberta sands either. This week Pelosi and her radical left buddies finally came up with a plan: Pump out the strategic oil reserves that are kept by the government for national emergencies and use it to bring down the price of gas four or five cents a gallon for a few days to "help consumers." This woman just hates America and any chance she has to put the nation in danger, she will do it.

Nation's Largest Taxpayer Group Creates Online Portal Demonstrating Real Effects of New Energy Taxes - As Congress prepares to return to Washington and debate proposals to punish energy providers for rising prices, the 362,000-member National Taxpayers Union (NTU) has launched a Web site dedicated to educating taxpayers on the true targets of these taxes and regulations: America's truck drivers, businesses, consumers, and families. This and other economic facts about the nation's energy policy can be found at www.NoNewEnergyTaxes.com. Despite claims to the contrary, www.NoNewEnergyTaxes.com shows how hiking taxes on oil, gas, or coal companies will only decrease domestic production and increase our dependence on foreign sources, which in turn will drive up utility bills, gas prices, and food costs -- at a time when taxpayers can least afford it.

The American Energy Act: Supply Side Solutions - Congressman John Boehner of Ohio is set to introduce The American Energy Act, which will most importantly increase America’s energy supplies. The bill calls for leasing regulations for offshore natural gas by 2010, removing restrictions for outer continental shelf drilling, and opening up sections of ANWR for drilling. As The Heritage Foundation’s Senior Policy Analyst Ben Lieberman has been arguing this even when gas prices were around $1 a gallon. More energy supplies, not more taxes and regulations, are what this country needs. It’s economics 101: expanding supply is the surest way to lower energy prices, and the quicker Congress moves to open up restricted areas, the quicker more resources will be available.

Indoctrination: "Mainstream" Media & Education? - (Education?) The good, the bad, and the ugly...Without a Heritage every generation starts over  Will our descendants know moral virtue? The primary responsibility of education DOES NOT belong to schools.  (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)

"Knowledge unenlightened by the truth of God is dark knowledge. We may have a B.S., an M.S., and a Ph.D., but without the Lord all we have is dark information. It may help navigate us in the world of darkness, but by itself will never lead us to the truth. Apart from the revelation of the Spirit of God, none of us could ever find our way into the light. Darkly educated people are like those whom Paul described to his young protégé', Timothy, as 'always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.'" NEA Teachers Have Become Re-Educators By PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY - The nation's largest teachers union, the National Education Association, attracted 9,000 delegates to its annual convention in Washington, D.C., over the July Fourth weekend. Delegates sported buttons with provocative slogans such as "Gay marriage causes global warming only because we are so hot," "Hate is not a family value," "The Christian right is neither" and "Gay rights are civil rights." The delegates passed dozens of hard-hitting resolutions that now become the NEA's official policy. The resolutions authorize NEA members and employees to lobby for those goals in the halls of Congress and state capitols.

"Politically Correct" - (Politically Correct with PC dictionary) Examples and results of using unrighteous deception which lack Biblical Moral Virtue. Remove the Light (Jesus) and darkness (politically correct secular humanism) inevitably ensues.

Bill would require 'he/she,' 'his/her' language By Matt Murphy - BOSTON -- State Rep. Cory Atkins said she has been caught completely off-guard by all the fuss being made over a simple three-letter word. The Concord Democrat is pushing a bill that would require all Massachusetts laws to be written with gender-neutral language such as "he/she" and "his/her" instead of always the masculine pronouns.

Stern on XM/Sirius Merger: 'I Will Never Vote For a Democrat Again' Satellite radio talk show star cites 'gangsterism,' 'communism' for holding up deal. - Sirius Satellite Radio host Howard Stern supports the merger of his network with XM Satelitte Radio and is fuming at Democratic opposition on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) panel. After FCC commissioners announced they have reached a deal to approve the merger of Sirius (NASDAQ:SIRI) and XM (NASDAQ:XMSR), Stern ranted about Democrats’ ‘gangsterism’ and ‘communism’ and the obstacles to the merger. Stern described a phone conversation he had with his agent, who he described as a “liberal Democrat kind of guy.” “I go, ‘That’s it!’” Stern said. “[I] go, ‘You know what Don, I’ve voted Republican and I’ve voted Democrat.
