Return to Christ, save the country Family Research Council president Tony Perkins says the only way Christians can change America is by seeking God individually and "winning people to the Lord one at a time."

Tell Congress to Support the Major Regulation Cost Review Act! ALERT: Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy and the engine for job growth. As you know, though, these small businesses are usually burdened by unnecessary or overreaching federal regulations. Currently, there is no requirement for a periodic review of existing regulations. Legislation that will eliminate unnecessary red tape is LONG overdue.

Massachusetts Pushes Same-Sex 'Marriage' on the Nation Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill today to repeal a 1913 law that prohibited couples from marrying in the state if their unions were not legal in their home states. Before he signed the bill, however, lawmakers added an "emergency" clause to it to prevent intervention from family advocates. Kris Mineau, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute, said lawmakers created an "insurance policy to circumvent any possibility of the citizens in Massachusetts doing a petition to suspend this law." The Massachusetts Constitution allows voters to conduct a petition drive within 90 days of the passage of a law. If enough signatures are gathered, the issue can go to the voters. In this case, however, the Legislature thwarted that possibility by declaring an emergency. Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst for Focus on the Family Action, called it a cheap political trick to once again prevent Massachusetts voters from weighing in on marriage. "There was no 'emergency' here, other than the desire by homosexual activists to export gay 'marriage' across the nation as soon as possible," he said. "What these legislators did was an 'in-your-face' action designed to tell Massachusetts voters they are merely a hurdle to clear, not participants in the political process."

Massachusetts Marriage and Family Same-Sex Marriage DOCUMENT Roll Call Vote - 1913 Law - The House voted on July 29, 2008 on S.800, a bill that would repeal the so-called \"1913 law\" that prevents out-of-state couples from marrying in Massachusetts if the laws in their homestate would not allow such a marriage to take place. The final vote was 119-36, with \"Yes\" vote supporting the repeal of the law and a \"No\" vote keeping the law on the books. An \"X\" denotes a legislator who did not vote.

EarsToHear.net comment: Before the Roll Call was available I asked my State Representative what he voted and why. His response: "for the record - Once again we find ourselves on opposite sides of an issue. I voted to repeal the 1913 Law. My vote was to uphold the importance of maintaining equality for all our citizens." I have since asked my State Representative to justify his "entitling" a "Right" that violates "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God." Upon what other foundation does he base his establishing and setting boundaries in determining how "Rights" are "entitled?" What new and improved politically correct secular liberal humanistic wisdom does he employ that supersedes "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God?" Can I now marry a second, third, or 1oth wife? How about my dog?  Or would you violate my "rights" according to YOUR  statement?

Richard Viguerie: Bush White House Hides True Scope of Federal Deficit "The White House has issued figures indicating that President Bush and his enablers in Congress will leave his successor with a budget deficit of $482 Billion for Fiscal Year 2009, which is a record. How's that for a legacy? "As shocking as this deficit figure is, that's still not the true scope of our budget woes because it excludes $80 Billion in war costs and $227 Billion borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund. "The real budget deficit is therefore $789 Billion. "Under accounting trickery that would probably land the top officers of a publicly traded company in jail, the money borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund-- and spent on anything and everything except Social Security payments--is not counted towards the budget deficit, although it is part of our $9.49 Trillion National Debt.

"Senator John McCain could never convince me to vote for him. Only Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama can cause me to vote for McCain." - Thomas Sowell Random Thoughts

“Obama is being hailed as the newest and freshest face on the American political scene. But he is advocating some of the oldest fallacies, just as if it was the 1960s again, or as if he has learned nothing and forgotten nothing since then... But politics is not about facts. It is about what politicians can get people to believe.” Thomas Sowell

Obamanomics Is a Recipe for Recession By MICHAEL J. BOSKIN  - What if I told you that a prominent global political figure in recent months has proposed: abrogating key features of his government's contracts with energy companies; unilaterally renegotiating his country's international economic treaties; dramatically raising marginal tax rates on the "rich" to levels not seen in his country in three decades (which would make them among the highest in the world); and changing his country's social insurance system into explicit welfare by severing the link between taxes and benefits?

08-31 Digest Barack Hussein Obama’s economic plan is nothing more than a remake of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s class-warfare proclamation: “Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle.” In fact, Roosevelt’s “principle” was no more American than Obama’s. Not to be confused with the biblical principle in the Gospel according to Luke, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required...” (which, ironically, some Leftist do-gooders cite as justification for socialist policies), Roosevelt was essentially paraphrasing the gospel according to Karl Marx, whose maxim declared, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Jesus used parables to enlighten the heart, in this case, about our personal responsibility. Marxist methods are a bit more coercive—rejecting God and anointing the state as the supreme deity. Soviet dictator Nikita Khrushchev said of Roosevelt’s “New Deal” paradigm shift, “We can’t expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism.” Perennial Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas (the grandfather, incidentally, of Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas), echoed that sentiment: “The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” ...Between now and Election Day, Obama will be faking right and looking centrist. He has been invoking his version of another Yogi Berra witticism, “I didn’t really say everything I said.”

Thomas Jefferson: “To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”

Why don't secular humanists cling to this statement by Thomas Jefferson like they do when they twist and distort to claim just the opposite of what he said concerning the "Wall of Separation?" The answer is simple: Selective Political Porrectness.

North American Union: The dream 'is dead' Father of alignment of U.S., Mexico, Canada says secret plan has been killed by left, right - The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America is dead, says Robert A. Pastor, the American University professor who for more than a decade has been a major proponent of building a North American Community."The new president will probably discard the SPP," Pastor wrote in an article titled "The Future of North America," published in the current July/August issue of the Council on Foreign Relations magazine Foreign Affairs. ...Despite the SPP setback, Pastor remains determined to advise a different approach to his continued goal of integrating the U.S., Mexico and Canada into a North American Community.

Former Border Patrol agents to remain in prison The founder of the Minuteman Project is very saddened that a federal appeals court won't throw out the long prison sentences for two former U.S. Border Patrol agents who were convicted of shooting a drug smuggling illegal immigrant as he fled back across the U.S.-Mexico border.

U.S. government: We know parenting better than you Proposals would give Washington unprecedented control over kids By Chelsea Schilling - The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to debate two bills that could give the federal government unprecedented control over the way parents raise their children – even providing funds for state workers to come into homes and screen babies for emotional and developmental problems.

Docking Paychecks for Politics The mighty Service Employees International Union (SEIU) plans to spend some $150 million in this year's election, most of it to get Barack Obama and other Democrats elected. Where'd they get that much money? That's a question the Departments of Labor and Justice are being asked to investigate by the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation. Specifically, the labor watchdog group wants Justice to query a new SEIU policy that appears to coerce local workers into funding the parent union's national political priorities.

EXCLUSIVE: 2004 YouTube Video of Obama   How will this play in the Heartland? The Brody File has a 2004 YouTube video in its possession where Barack Obama talks about how his three year old daughter (at the time) loves to listen and dance to the rap song, "Drop it like its Hot." Obama said that his daughter thought the song was "Drop it like a Sock." Watch Obama make those comments here. The original version of that song may not make the "family value" playlist, but the radio version of that song is much tamer. Still, the tamer version talks about pimps and sex. Look it up. If you're not familiar with the song, the cleaned up version is here: There are two points as to why The Brody File felt compelled to run this video. ...

Obama's Top Ten Flaws That Will Cost Him in November by John Hawkins

Your Money & Planned Parenthood - SBA List Congresswoman Michele Bachmann spoke on the floor of the House about the evils of abortion and Planned Parenthood. And how your money is supporting their abortion agenda.

Al Qaeda Website Urges Detailed Attacks on Western Targets - What else is new, you might say. And yes, there are literally threats against the West on Islamist websites every day. But they're often times non-specific, incoherent diatribes that deal in "Kill the Jews' and "Death to America"-type generalities. This one is a bit more detailed. From Canada.com: A virulent al-Qaida website has issued a new call for followers to kill Canadians and other westerners and attack oil and economic targets. The message on the password-protected al-Ekhlaas.net forum was posted July 7, the third anniversary of the London transit massacre. The website is a notorious and favoured site of hardcore jihadists.

India Learns from Uganda: New AIDS Strategy Rejects Failed UN Approach - Will Focus on Abstinence, Fidelity Decision by world's second most populated nation and growing economic giant certain to have international effect By Tim Waggoner - NEW DELHI, July 31, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - One of the only national programs ever to effectively combat HIV/AIDS was the Ugandan ABC program, which focused on abstinence and being faithful to one partner. Now the Indian national AIDS committee is adopting this same approach in their effort to curb HIV/AIDS rates. A spokesperson for India's National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) told the media yesterday that sex-education taught to students will focus on abstinence and fidelity, not condoms and 'safer sex.'

Throw the Bums Out! By NANCY GIBBS - There's something touching about a man who spent his life defying laws now wanting to write them. Dr. Death has little to commend him to voters except not being a career politician, but in this season that might count for something. The 260 laws passed by the 110th Congress represent a 30-year low, and they include the naming of 74 post offices, not to mention the nonbinding resolutions designating July National Watermelon Month and recognizing dirt as an essential natural resource. Approval of Congress has sunk to a record low: 9% of people in a Rasmussen poll think lawmakers are doing a good or excellent job. The happiest news in this for the Democrats running the place is that about 40% of voters think the Republicans are still in charge.

Indoctrination: "Mainstream" Media & Education? - (Education?) The good, the bad, and the ugly...Without a Heritage every generation starts over  Will our descendants know moral virtue? The primary responsibility of education DOES NOT belong to schools.  (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)

"A trained intelligence can do much, but there is no substitute for morality, character and religious conviction."  President Calvin Coolidge

"Knowledge unenlightened by the truth of God is dark knowledge. We may have a B.S., an M.S., and a Ph.D., but without the Lord all we have is dark information. It may help navigate us in the world of darkness, but by itself will never lead us to the truth. Apart from the revelation of the Spirit of God, none of us could ever find our way into the light. Darkly educated people are like those whom Paul described to his young protégé', Timothy, as 'always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.'" (2 Timothy 3:7) Rediscovering the Kingdom by Myles Munroe

Putting Money Where Mouths Are: Media Donations Favor Dems 100-1 By WILLIAM TATE - The New York Times' refusal to publish John McCain's rebuttal to Barack Obama's Iraq op-ed may be the most glaring example of liberal media bias this journalist has ever seen. But true proof of widespread media bias requires one to follow an old journalism maxim: Follow the money.

A Serious Look at American Educational Competition If you haven't seen this eye-opening video about the degree to which American children are ill-prepared to compete in the global marketplace, you should watch it now. The video is a preview for a film called Two Million Minutes, named for the average amount of time a student spends in high school. So how are students in America spending those two million minutes? And how are students in India and China spending them? To get an idea, visit the film's website. There you can take what producer Bob Compton calls "The Third World Challenge," a shortened version of the 10th grade proficiency exam Indian students must take to pass. He developed the challenge after a Harvard education professor blithely dismissed his film by saying, "We have nothing to learn from education systems in Third World countries." So how do you measure up to a "third world" 10th grader? How would your child measure up? And if America doesn't wake up, how long does America have as the top economic power in the world?

"Politically Correct" - (Politically Correct with PC dictionary) Examples and results of using unrighteous deception which lack Biblical Moral Virtue. Remove the Light (Jesus) and darkness (politically correct secular humanism) inevitably ensues.

First corrupt their young minds, then subject their health to the "natural" results of that corruption (as politicians, school administrators, judges, and worse, parents appease because of "political correctness.")

Evangelical Liberal Urges Abolition of Civil Marriage HYANNIS, Mass. - An evangelical liberal says the controversy over gay marriage could be settled by doing away with civil marriage altogether. The Reverend Tony Campolo says states should only unite couples in civil unions and let the churches perform marriages according to their beliefs. That way, he says the government could guarantee legal rights for both gay and straight couples while churches retain responsibility for marriage as a sacred institution.
