Well, that's one way to rebut a rumor. RedState.com - The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child. Bristol Palin, one of Alaska Gov. Palin's five children with her husband, Todd, is about five months pregnant and is going to keep the child and marry the father, the Palins said in a statement released by the campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Bristol Palin made the decision on her own to keep the baby, McCain aides said.

As we noted earlier: The foul denizens of Obama's online base, who find the very idea of Sarah Palin as a strong feminist conservative mother absurd, engaged in the worst kind of putrid mudslinging over the past few days, suggesting in no uncertain terms that her daughter was the mother of Trig Palin. Of course, those of us who laughed at the baseless suggestions of the child-hating left (she's not fat enough! they shriek) now know that to be impossible.

We also know that McCain himself knew of Bristol's pregnancy - which had to have made this past 48 hours all the more frustrating for the campaign. For all these reasons, it's good to have this announcement come now. We'll see how the media inevitably bashes this young woman for her choice in the coming days, in the wake of covering up the John Edwards love child for 2+ years, and botching the story when it came out as they bent over backwards to avoid criticism. Nah, that wasn't bias. But it's fitting that in this moment, one of the toughest a young woman can face, Bristol Palin has chosen on her own to take the right path.

This baby is not a "punishment,", as Obama so famously said; it is not an object to be destroyed, as Obama argued for in the Illinois State Senate; he or she is a human life, one worthy of receiving the love of a mother and father. And we rejoice in the knowledge that a family will receive this blessing into the world. Have no doubts about this: Bristol Palin is brave. Braver than any of the hideous bloggers, hiding in their anonymity, who throw muck at her mother and who will doubtlessly revile her decision. Braver than the foes of the right to life who would offer her a knife and a vacuum to end this minor inconvenience. Brave enough to know that it's not enough to talk about doing the right thing - it's doing that right thing when the moment calls for it the most. We thank her for making this choice now - her child will thank her forever. We send our strongest prayers and best wishes for Bristol Palin, for her future husband, for her child, and for the entire Palin clan.

Sarah Palin and Joe Biden:  Worlds Apart Even before this week, the difference between Barack Obama and John McCain was clear. For one, McCain joined more than 300 other members of Congress in signing a "friend of the court" brief, in District of Columbia v. Heller, urging the Supreme Court to rule in favor of the Second Amendment and against D.C.'s handgun ban. Obama refused to sign the Heller brief, and supports reinstituting the Clinton gun and magazine ban. He also supports Ted Kennedy's bill to ban semi-automatic handguns in the guise of "micro-stamping," and supports banning inexpensive handguns as "junk guns." But now that each candidate has chosen his running mate, the difference is even clearer than before. And when it comes to guns, the two prospective vice-presidents are as far apart as the states from which they hail. ...Sen. McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is a NRA Life Member and hunter who says, "I support our Constitutional right to bear arms and am a proponent of gun safety programs for Alaska's youth," adding "I have always strongly supported the personal use of fish and game by Alaskans. I grew up hunting and fishing in Alaska, and I am proud to raise my children with this same uniquely Alaskan heritage." As for Joe Biden, from Delaware, the Brady Campaign sums it up in a straightforward enough fashion, saying, "Senator Biden has been a consistent supporter of the Brady Campaign," and "Senator Biden was a key player in the fight for the federal assault weapons ban that passed in 1994.  He also worked hard for passage of the Brady Law (sic)."

But Obama is following an opposite course from FDR when it comes to recognizing threats to American national security. Senator Obama has repeatedly tried to deal with national security threats with rhetoric. He tried to dismiss the threat of a nuclear Iran with because Iran is "a small nation"-- even though it is larger than Japan, which launched a devastating attack against the United States at Pearl Harbor. FDR had the good sense to begin urging greater military preparedness in 1940, more than a year before the United States was attacked. He said, "If you wait until you see the whites of their eyes, you will never know what hit you." Cutting the military budget and taking foreign policy problems to the United Nations are Obama's version of "change." That is change that we dare not believe in. It is the audacity of hype.

New Political Action Committee Exposes Barack Obama's 'Black Liberation Theology' Reverend Swarthout said, "Obama's church is committed to 'Black Liberation Theology.' All voters have a right to know about Black Liberation Theology and that it is not faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ." Swarthout continued, "We have produced a documentary, Barack Obama and Black Liberation Theology, which is available to the public free of charge at the web site www.ObamaReligion.net." Americans who go to this web site will see stunning quotes from the founder of Black Liberation Theology, James Cone. Cone said in his books, which was used as a teaching manual at Obama's church, "to be black is to be committed to destroying everything this country loves and adores," and "black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy."

Palin: ‘I Do Not Support the Voucher System’ (CNSNews.com) - The National Education Association has launched a $50 million campaign to put Sen. Barack Obama in the White House, but nevertheless it is praising Sen. John McCain’s pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate -- partly because she opposed school vouchers when she ran for governor. Sen. John McCain supports school voucher programs.Sen. Palin told NEA-Alaska she wants to give parents as much choice and as many options as possible for educating their children, but “not public funding via vouchers.” Instead, she stressed the need for vocational education, especially in “resource rich” Alaska where “so many of our students are going to go on to vo-tech careers.”

The Democratic National Committee has released its official party platform including its position on gun control: "We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation, but we know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne. We can work together to enact and enforce commonsense laws and improvements -- like closing the gun show loophole, improving our background check system, and reinstating the assault weapons ban ..."

RNC PARTY PLATFORM ON GUN CONTROL  (pdf - Firearms section is on Page 51).. . . The Republican National Committee has released its official party platform including its position on gun control: "We condemn frivolous lawsuits against firearms manufacturers, which are transparent attempts to deprive citizens of their rights. We oppose federal licensing of law-abiding gun owners and national gun registration as violations of the Second Amendment. We recognize that gun control only affects and penalizes law-abiding citizens, and that such proposals are ineffective at reducing violent crime."

Conservative Christian Columnist Doug Giles Endorses Barack Obama by Doug Giles - Don’t worry, conservative Christian: I haven’t T. D. Jaked into the Obama corner. I’m just jacking with ya. Having said that, there is a part of me that would love to endorse Barack and Biden. It’s the stupid part. ...What kept me from completely diving down the funnel and blowing off my conservative roots are these few ditties that Barack proposes for the future and also what he has done in the past, stuff like . . .

• Double the capital gain tax on stock and real estate sales

• Increase FICA taxes by 14 points on all income over $100,000

• Double taxes on dividends

• Expand the inheritance tax

• Weaken the PATRIOT Act

• Curb anti-terror wire tapping

• Extend health insurance benefits to illegal immigrants

• Give children of illegal immigrants in-state tuition at state universities

• Weaken education standards

• Enlarge health insurance so drastically that it forces us to ration medical care, particularly to granny

• Expand the welfare state, dividing America between makers and takers. Y’know, enacting some “economic justice.” I think his plan is something like, “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Where have I heard that before?

• Enact a Global Poverty Act, which means you and I picking up the tab for Barack’s ba-roke brother in Africa. Yep, as I type he’s working on having us pay new “world” taxes (S.2433).

• “Voluntary Public Service” for young people. Or, as IBD likes to call B-HO’s proposal, national involuntary servitude.

• Downplaying of the terror threat. Terror threat, what terror threat? You see a terror threat? Not B-HO.

• A liberal out the wazoo anti-2nd Amendment voting record

• Abortion being available to mommy in all nine months of her pregnancy

• Parents not being notified when their 13-year-old girl goes in for an abortion.

• Opposing any and all bans on partial birth abortion. I don’t think the abortion issue means squat to some “evangelicals” anymore. Especially the “hip and groovy” dorks. Abortion to these twaddlers is so yesterday and so contentious that if they take a strong stand for life they might not be viewed as “cool” and “open” any longer, and they can’t have that. They and their cute Jesus live for public approval.

• Advancing the radical homosexual activist lobby and voting against the defense of traditional marriage.

• The creation of “special rights” for people who engage in homosexuality for the sole purpose of putting them at the front of the line on issues of employment, housing and litigation.

• The advancement of all “hate crimes” legislation, which ultimately could be used to silence pastors who believe—according to their own convictions—that homosexual behavior is . . . uh . . . wrong . . . and preach the same from biblical texts.

• The continued funding of Planned Parenthood clinics in our nation's inner cities, which are performing genocide against the populations of African Americans living there.

• Former 20 year track record of going to a church that propagates anti-white, anti-American and anti-Jewish blather, zany 9/11 “was our fault because we’re racists” rancor, and a “black value system,” all via a pastor who has hung out with Qaddafi and honors Louis Farrakhan.

• And last, but not least, his past (and close) associations with radical Marxists such as mentor Frank Marshall Davis, Gerald Kellman (a disciple of Saul “The Red” Alinsky), and terrorist Bill Ayers

I believe aside from all the above, Barack is like OMG totally awesome, as one bearded woman put it at the DNC. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to blow off the aforementioned facts amidst all the orchestrated love, children, confetti, firecrackers, gaudy-a$$ stage sets, over unctuous liberals spewing specious talking points, weepy testimonies, O’Biden’s hair plugs, MO’s pastel dresses and Sheryl Crow’s crooning. Oh well, at least I got to see some of the most amazing propagandists in US history, and that, my friends, truly gave me the chills.

Obama is 'Radically Pro-Abortion, Radically Pro-Homosexual,' Says Republican Pro-Family Group at GOP Convention - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion and pro-homosexual candidate ever to receive a major party's nomination, Republicans For Family Values (www.rffv.org) founder Peter LaBarbera said today.

RFFV will be at the GOP convention to educate Republicans and the media on Obama's extreme record on the two most important moral crises facing our nation: the killing of millions of innocent, unborn babies; and the campaign to use government to force Americans to support (and subsidize) homosexual behavior against their conscience.

"While pro-life advocates have done an outstanding job alerting the nation to Obama's radical abortion record -- he opposes banning heinous partial-birth abortions and opposed an Illinois bill recognizing human rights for babies 'born alive' after botched abortions -- Obama's extreme pro- homosexual record remains largely hidden from the public."

The following are some examples of Obama's pro- homosexual advocacy:

• Despite repeatedly professing his belief in traditional marriage, Obama's stated public policies invariably promote the Homosexual Lobby's "gay marriage" agenda. In other words, he claims to support marriage while simultaneously undermining it;
• For example, Obama promises to completely repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed into law by Bill Clinton. If DOMA were to be repealed, states could be forced to recognize out-of-state "same-sex marriages" against their will. (Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged to repeal only part of DOMA.);
• Obama opposes the California marriage protection amendment (Prop 8), which would simply reinstate marriage as solely between a man and a woman – the very thing that the Illinois Senator SAYS he supports;
• Obama congratulated San Francisco Democratic homosexual activists on "getting married" – again showing his hypocrisy on marriage, and his old-politics habit of trying to appeal to both sides of this and other controversial issues at the same time;
• Obama pledged to homosexual activists to use the White House bully pulpit to advocate for homosexual adoption of children – thus creating the potentially absurd spectacle of a U.S. President using the moral authority and prestige of the office to push for placing children in same-sex households that are motherless or fatherless by design;
• Obama distorts the Bible to justify his support of homosexuality and even used Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount to support same-sex unions.
