Those who forget the past Lisa Fabrizio - At a small party over the weekend, the subject of our presidential election arose. Living as I do in Connecticut, I was prepared for the typical onslaught a conservative is sure to endure from liberals in social situations in our state. I was, of course, not disappointed. The insults, name-calling and foul language — staples of most liberal conversations — directed at my fiancé and I were to be expected, as we were the only representatives of a party that our fellow guests said, "makes them sick." We once again witnessed the phenomenon where otherwise perfectly nice people were transformed into fire-breathing attack dogs at the mere mention of the GOP. ...In the bad old days before Fox News and the Internet, this kind of hypocrisy went mostly unnoticed by the American people whose attention span was short.

The drilling bill that bans drilling By Jeff Jacoby - Q: Says here the House of Representatives approved a bill to allow offshore oil drilling, but nearly all the Republicans voted against it. Weren't Republicans the ones chanting "Drill, baby, drill!" at their convention last month? A: Yep. That's why they voted against this bill. It isn't a drilling bill, it's an anti-drilling bill. If it becomes law, nearly all the oil and gas in the Outer Continental Shelf would be off-limits forever.

Young people have taken unprecedented leadership through this to have a positive impact at their schools." - "Speak, for your servant is listening" (1 Samuel 3:10) is the theme for See You at the Pole (SYATP) this year, with the event scheduled for Wednesday, September 24 at schools throughout the United States and in many other countries. Sharia Banking: The Silent Jihad Against the West - Why do western banks seek to participate in Sharia banking? It is because it gives them a chance to enter the Islamic banking industry which has over $1.5 trillion available today and is growing at a steady and explosive rate of over 15% per year. The implications for the west, and especially for the United States, are staggeringly destructive. Islamic banking working through global banks is doing for Islam what it could never do on its own: giving legitimacy to Sharia law and infiltrating it into the fabric of western society. For those not familiar with Sharia Banking, it is a system which creates and sells services and products that are in strict accordance with Sharia law. Sometimes it is referred to in the Islamic culture as "Sharia finance." It dictates how the practices of banking, investment, bonds, loans, brokerage, etc., are to be conducted. To insure compliance and to become "Sharia banking" compliant, banks must hire Sharia experts to review and approve each product and practice of the bank. This is known as "halal," which has been described as "the Muslim equivalent of kosher in Judaism."

Related - FBI's Crime Report Bad News for Anti-Gunners - This week, the FBI released its crime report for 2007 and, once again, gun control supporters are taking it on the chin. ...In 2007, as in years past, Right-to-Carry states had lower violent crime rates, on average, compared to the rest of the country with total violent crime lower by 24 percent, murder by 28 percent, robbery by 50 percent, and aggravated assault by 11 percent. Further, in 2007, 32 percent of murders were committed without firearms of any sort--knives accounted for 12 percent, hands and feet six percent, and blunt objects four percent. Rifles and shotguns (semi-automatic and otherwise) accounted for three percent each, and typically "assault weapons" have accounted for about one percent.

Of course, having a presidential candidate call you a ‘despicable liar’ is not as bad as being burned by a saline abortion.

Obama Proves All Too Human By Victor Davis Hanson - “Like it or not, the perception is growing that Team Obama is focusing on [Sarah] Palin as a clueless hockey mom from way up north and on [John] McCain as an old fogy. And this week the Obama campaign modified his position on a sensitive issue: Social Security. Compare the current "Seniors & Social Security" page with the previous version. Now, tell me why, oh why, would the Obama campaign decide to delete the following sentence: "[Obama] does not believe it is necessary or fair to hardworking seniors to raise the retirement age." Is he trying to stoke anxiety about his position on Social Security?
Obama's Dishonesty on 'The Least of These!' by Kevin McCullough - For the next few weeks my column will follow the most egregious examples of where Obama's record violates values, principles, and biblical truth. The treatment of "the least of these!" Speak to any Obama supporter and the rhetoric they will effuse concerning hope and change will inevitably lead to Obama's platitudinal use of "helping a neighbor in need" or "looking out for the least of these."
The quasi-biblical concepts are used by Obama as a force-du-jour concerning the combination of helping the downtrodden, those without hope, and those that need help. In fact if you were to survey any group of Obama supporters it is doubtless that one of the number one reasons they likely support him is this idea that he will empower the powerless. Yet nothing could be further from the truth in his record, and in his plans.
Beginning with his economic plan Obama pledges to only tax people making above a certain income level at a higher rate than everyone else. His false claim is that this aids the middle and lower class because he steals from the rich and gives the poor.
...There is the reminder of how evil Christ himself felt about those who would harm even a hair on those He loved. And though the term "disabled" does not appear in the New Testament text, if we are to understand anything about Christ's view of children, the innocent, and those who were at a disadvantaged position in life we would have to hold that children who face challenge in mental or physical regards would be very special indeed to Him.
Obama according to his own audio recordings, and more importantly his votes on the matter views children as a burden, a weight, and a problem.

American Minute for September 20th: Fisher Ames helped ratify the U.S. Constitution and authored the final House language of the First Amendment. At age 46, Fisher Ames was elected Harvard's president, but declined due to an illness which led to his death on July 4, 1808. An orator, Fisher Ames stated no one could be eloquent "without being a constant reader of the Bible and an admirer of the purity and sublimity of its language." In January 1788, Fisher Ames stated: "The known propensity of a democracy is to licentiousness which the...ignorant believe to be liberty." In his Dangers of American Liberty, February 1805, Fisher Ames warned that democracy without morals would eventually reduce the nation to the basest of human passions, swallowing freedom: "A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction." In Palladium Magazine, SEPTEMBER 20, 1789, Fisher Ames wrote: "We have a dangerous trend beginning to take place in our education. We're starting to put more textbooks into our schools...containing fables and moral lessons...We are spending less time in the classroom on the Bible, which should be the principal text in our schools." Fischer Ames concluded: "The Bible states these great moral lessons better than any other manmade book."
Textbooks - perpetrators of 'classroom lies' - A best-selling historian is exposing what he describes as lies taught in politically correct classrooms. ...In his book 48 Liberal Lies About American History, Larry Schweikart of the University of Dayton, Ohio, unmasks the liberal bias that he argues is corroding American education. "Well, I was getting a little tired of seeing these myths perpetuated through the textbooks," he shares. "I looked at 15 to 20 of the top, best-selling U.S. history textbooks -- and while I found that no textbook had all 48 lies, every one of them had most of these in them." In his book Schweikart provides an overview of his findings to illustrate where the country is heading.
