For the last twenty years, courageous men of God have warned our nation of these days. Our nation has sowed to the wind and we are reaping the whirlwind. America stands on the verge of possible economic collapse, where the bail out cure may be worse than the financial disease. Meanwhile Russia, China, and the Islamic nations smell our vulnerabilities. Added to these dangers is the increase of natural disasters. What can our beleaguered country do in such a time as this? Repent and bring forth fruit meat for repentance.

Legalized evil has flourished under our watch and stands as God's indictment against America. We can run, but not hide. America will never escape God's accountability for shedding innocent blood through the crime of abortion and parading our sin like Sodom through the godless, homosexual agenda.

The message and mandate are clear, either abortion and the homosexual agenda ends or America as we know it will end. Until now, America has refused to connect the dots between our spiritual and moral condition and the litany of woe challenging our nation. We pretend this party with death and perversion will continue with our homes, churches, institutions, and economic security remaining intact. Thomas Jefferson stated, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be."

Due to the seriousness of the hour, the call is twofold. First, every Church needs to immediately form a pro-life and pro-family missions program to address and defeat the abortion industry and the homosexual agenda, while at the same time opening our hearts to those enslaved by Satan's lies to see them liberated by the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If, however, the Church continues to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to these sins that have reached heaven, our survival as a nation will continue down the primrose path to destruction. The Church’s silence and inaction is partially responsible for the corruption of our nation to continue unabated.

Secondly, we call upon all branches of government to recant of calling good, evil and evil, good by codifying the abominable practices of abortion and homosexuality into law. For far too long, they have defended the indefensible. They cannot make straight what Almighty God has called crooked and expect America to thrive as a nation.

If we summon the moral will to do these necessary changes, we may avert going the way of every other nation that shook its puny fist in the face of a Holy God. Otherwise, America prepare to reap what you have sown!

Massachusetts: Chip Ford's CLT Commentary - The battle is waging over Question One on November 4th ballot. Both sides are trying their hardest to sway the undecided: Carla Howell of the Committee for Small Government, spokeswoman for the "Yes" side, and; Michael Widmer of the so-called Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and apparently designated spokesman for the "No" side of the ballot question, are having at it. Carla is representing taxpayers; Widmer is, as usual, representing business as usual on Beacon Hill.

The massive army of public employee unions and private sector unions feeding off government contracts have unlimited financial resources, and brigades of trough-feeding members who'll go anywhere, do anything, to keep their gravy train running on its tracks at taxpayer expense. They are organizing cells in every community across the Commonwealth. The Big Government establishment and, I expect, most if not all the media, are or will be behind the unions' cause, promoting the tax-borrow-and spend cause.

This won't change the outcome. Oh, it may affect the election results -- but it won't change the outcome.

The real outcome is the spiraling cost of government at the local and state level. We now know the real cost of government at the federal level -- what it is and what it'll be very soon, after its bail-out of Big Business and fatter cats than even belong to Widmer's MTF cabal.

As Bloomberg -- a business publication -- notes, the cost of government is skyrocketing. This is primarily due to public employee unions. This explains why so many millions from those unions are pouring into the "Coalition for Our Communities" -- the "No" on Question 1 ballot committee. This growth of government is unsustainable. It's a ticking time bomb sitting in our collective living room. That's a given. The question is, how much more will taxpayers pay before either they go bankrupt (with no government bail-out), or before they stand up and shout "Enough!"

A "Yes" vote on Question 1 is that shout, and not as some symbolic "message," as Widmer put it.

It's now or likely never. I've been following the Vallejo, California bankruptcy case for a while. A federal judge recently ruled that, if the city and its public employee unions can't reach a mutually agreeable settlement, then the city will be declared bankrupt and all contracts will become null and void -- including those made made with its public employee unions. If that can happen in Vallejo, why couldn't it happen to Massachusetts and its 351 municipalities -- if that's what it actually comes to, if Widmer's latest predictions finally for once prove to be more accurate than in the past? End of problem: Taxpayer liberation at last!

WHO LACKS HEALTH INSURANCE IN AMERICA? According to data recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Americans officially classified as uninsured in 2007 was 45.7 million. This figure is being used, naturally, to promote the case for radical "reform" that in practice would amount to a government takeover of the health care industry. However, Sally Pipes, in her Sunday Examiner column, shows that the 45.7 million uninsured figure is misleading as a barometer of the state of health insurance coverage in the U.S. She identifies four groups within that figure: (1) people who will quickly transfer from one insurance plan to another, (2) illegal immigrants, (3) individuals who make more than $50,000 a year but who elect not to purchase health insurance (usually because they are young and healthy), and (4) individuals who are eligible for government assistance with their health care through programs like Medicaid and SCHIP, but who do not avail themselves of that assistance. According to Pipes, if one subtracts these people from the 45.7 million figure, the number drops to approximately 8 million. If one adds back in those who make between $50,000 and $75,000 a year, the figure is roughly 16 million. These numbers provide a much more realistic sense of whether and to what extent we face a crisis in health care coverage. They should also point the way to the most reasonable solutions to what indisputably is at least a problem. Those solutions do not include socialized medicine.

Public Employee Pensions Endangered by State Officials Playing Global Warming Politics, New Report Says - Lobbying for Higher Energy Prices Likely to Harm Already Troubled Pension Funds 

Already at-risk public employee pension funds are being placed at further risk by state officials who are lobbying for global warming regulation and by state officials who are ignoring the risks posed by such regulation, says a new report, "Pensions in Peril: Are State Officials Risking Public Employee Retirement Benefits by Playing Global Warming Politics?," by the National Center for Public Policy Research.

"We concluded that many state officials are placing public employee pension fund assets at risk by lobbying for global warming regulation that is expected to harm the economy and stock market," said report co-author Steve Milloy. "These state officials, many of whose pension funds are already in financial trouble, may be breaching the fiduciary duties owed to public employees and retirees by playing global warming politics," Milloy added.

"Our report shows that public employees and retirees should be concerned about state officials who might be trying to advance their personal political agendas at the expense of retired public employees," said co-author Tom Borelli. "And let's not forget that taxpayers would likely be forced to make up for any pension fund shortfalls," Borelli added.

The report found that:

A substantial minority of state and pension fund administrators (15 states and local governments managing about $1.21 in assets or 45% of all actuarial assets of state and local pension funds) are actively promoting regulation that is likely to adversely impact their portfolios and beneficiaries. These states and local governments include: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, New York state, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.

Every news anchor and commentator should read it out loud to the American people. The American people have a right to know that President Bush and Congress are officially creating a socialist America.

Black Conservatives Join to Warn Fellow Believers About Making Skin Color Top Priority in Presidential Election - While polls indicate up to 96 percent of America's Black constituency plans to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama this November, a growing number of African-American conservative leaders are exhorting Christians not to vote based on skin color, but on character.

The latest edition of Freedom's Journal Magazine, which poses the soul stirring question, "Are we more Black than Christian?" is published in Obama's south side Chicago backyard; and warns that Black Americans bright future could be irreparably dimmed if Obama and his radical leftist political agenda emerge victors come this Nov. 4th.

"Dr. Martin Luther King's dream that future generations be judged by the content of their character would be set back decades if Obama wins based on racial loyalty alone. Obama’s Harvard Years: Questions Swirl By: Kenneth R. Timmerman - How exactly did Barack Obama pay for his Harvard Law School education?

...Sen. Obama has refused to instruct Harvard Law School to release any information about his time there as a student, or about his student loans. Newsmax contacted the Dean of Students, the Director of Student Financial Services, the Registrar, and the Bursar of Harvard Law School. None would provide any specific information on Barack Obama’s time at Harvard, except for his dates of attendance (1988-1991) or his year of graduation, 1991.

...The Obama campaign told Newsmax that Obama self-financed his three years at Harvard Law School with loans, and did not receive any scholarship from Harvard Law school. LaBolt denied that Obama received any financial assistance from Harvard or from outside parties. “No - he paid his way through by taking out loans,” he said in an email to Newsmax.

...At the time, Harvard cost around $25,000 a year, or $75,000 for the three years that Obama attended. And as president of the Harvard Law Review, he received no stipend from the school, Harvard spokesman Mike Armini said. “That is considered a volunteer position,” Armini said. “There is no salary or grant associated with it.” So if the figures cited by the Obama campaign for the Senator’s student loans are accurate, that means that Obama came up with more than $32,000 over three years from sources other than loans to pay for tuition, room and board. Where did he find the money? Did it come from friends of Khalid Al Mansour? And why would a radical Muslim activist with ties to the Saudi royal family be raising money for Barack Obama? That’s the question the Obama campaign still won’t answer.

...In response to Newsmax questions about the Obama’s college loans, a campaign spokesman cited a report in The Chicago Sun claiming that Obama borrowed $42,753 to pay for Harvard Law School, and “tens of thousands” more to pay for undergraduate studies at Columbia. The same report said that Michelle Obama borrowed $40,762 to pay for her years at Harvard Law School. But a Newsmax review of Senator Obama’s financial disclosures found no trace of any outstanding college loans, going back to 2000. As a United States Senate candidate, Barack Obama was required to file a financial disclosure form in 2004 detailing his assets, income, consulting contracts, and liabilities.

Obama listed “zero” under liabilities in 2004 and in all subsequent U.S. Senate financial disclosure forms. Under the Senate ethics rules, he is required to disclose any loan, including credit card debt, of $10,000 or more. The only exception to the reporting requirement is mortgage debt on a principal residence. The Senate reports also directly contradict Michelle Obama’s claim that the couple had “only just” paid off their student loans after receiving book royalties paid out in 2005 and 2006 – well after her husband had been ensconced in the Senate. Apparently, Michelle Obama misspoke, according to the version provided by the Obama campaign.

Obama Rep No Show at Christian Forum /Christian Newswire/ -- A top-level advisor and ten-member delegation for Sen. Barack Obama were no-shows at yesterday's Reese RoundTable on Capitol Hill, a forum for the campaigns to present their respective candidates' worldviews and how that informs their ideas about government.

The Obama representative, the Reverend Evna Terri La Velle, Senior Advisor Religious Affairs for Obama for America, inexplicably cancelled only hours before the event. When event organizers appealed to Democratic Party Officials, they were told someone would "look into it," but that these decisions are made in Chicago, meaning Obama campaign headquarters.

Event host, Rev. Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), who moderated the discussion, said he was profoundly disappointed. He released this statement:

"Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean assured me last year in a private meeting in his office that his party would do everything possible to constructively engage Evangelicals, traditional Catholics and other moral conservatives. He even pledged to participate in events like this. Barack Obama has made similar promises. They did a couple of high-profile media events, but it appears they were not serious at a grass-roots level. Yesterday's last-minute unexplained cancellation was nothing short of a snub. Our capacity crowd was insulted by their absence."

Snarky Media Hide Palin Policy News By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY - Obama has yet to negotiate with a foreign government. Palin did so with Canada, our top energy supplier and largest trading partner, to create a 1,700-mile natural gas pipeline. Obama, in fact, discounted Canada's importance in a campaign vow to break the 1994 trade ties forged in the North American Free Trade Agreement. Meanwhile, as Palin assured our Colombian and Afghan allies, McCain threw attention to another media-ignored friend, Australia. The Australian on Tuesday published a 1,298-word essay by McCain on what Australia means to him and what his U.S. foreign policy means for them. The newspaper noted that Obama had also been asked to submit a piece but hadn't bothered. That's the real shame of it all. Palin's visit with Colombia's Uribe, our battered ally surrounded by a hostile Marxist state, sends a major message to the entire region about McCain's commitment to our loyal new friends. Obama, meantime, imagines that hate-filled, obscenity-spewing Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez will turn docile if he sits down to tea with him without preconditions. Even with that offer on the table to Chavez, he didn't bother meeting with Uribe. Don't think that a tyrant like Chavez didn't notice. The self-absorbed media missed the real story about McCain and Palin's foreign intentions that the rest of the world is watching and reporting on. Who, again, are the real rubes?
